I found this place because someone posted a link on the City-Data megaboard. I probably won't be the only one.
Me Too ! I remember a few years ago there was a forum like this and it got kinda nasty, just a bit to political for me.
I suspect that was Newszap; truly a horrible experience for all of us. This site has always been like coming home to spend quality time with people you really like.
Hey Emily....Well, it is in the sellers court now. We sent a "fixit" letter based on the home inspection and a subsequent A/C inspection. He has 5 days to respond. We have been told that the odds are not in our favor for having this seller fix anything. We will see. It wasn't listed as an "as is" property, so I guess anything can happen. At lunch today (it's J's bday and we both took the day off work) we were talking about how we missed out on all this home buying "fun" when we bought our current home. We bought new construction then.
I believe the requests were reasonable (remember this was not an "as is" property) - replace the a/c, bring the electrical issues up to code, fix the busted sprinklers, and fix the non-standard roof repair that had been made in the past. It's probably for the best that this fell through. But, back to the thread - BP: any word on if the info we sent to Jeff is going to be made into an article?
