Yesterday afternoon we went out for dinner and stopped at an open house by owner. It's just two blocks over from us and is on Riverview golf course. We watched it be renovated several year back, the owner was a contractor and he took original Lafayette floor plan and turned it into a Santa Fe adobe style home. It's just under 25000 square feet, is a 3 bedroom and has some nice features. Obviously the home style isn't for everyone, but the workmanship is very good and the added garage area is great for a car enthusiast. The price is stiff at $350,000 but they are listing it with a realtor this Thursday so I expect there is some room to move before the listing gets to the realtor. The home is at 10638 West Brookside Drive. It's listed on a couple of Realtor sites as a FISBO, but only with a picture of the front of the house. The owner has it listed on Craigslist and has a bunch of photo's you can find here. If nothing else it's a great way to get a feel for what extensive remodels will cost you or the kinds of things you can do if you do it yourself.
They've done a nice job sussea, couple of things we would have done differently, but that's the joy of home remodels, you get to pick and choose what's important to you.
