That sounds like fun. I have not rode in many years and don't own one anymore.
Our son-in-law just landed a job with Indian (now owned by Polaris), they came out with their new line last November. He starts in a few weeks. Not great for us because they are moving away from CO and heading to Spirit Lake, Iowa (BRRR). But maybe that will give my wife incentive to consider heading to Sun City sooner than 4-5 years down the road. Maybe Polaris has family employee discounts. ;) The new Indian Chieftain looks pretty cool!

The magical 55 has come and gone for us, but not too long ago. ;-)
I can work from home if needed, but my wife can't on a perm basis.
Her company has a big division in Phoenix, but she has the best boss and doesn't want to leave just yet.
There is a huge heath care advantage if she retires from there and she does not want to risk that.
So we wait and watch prices go up there and also up here at a higher pace so maybe it is a wash.

What, me despair... not me! Well, maybe a tiny bit. ;)
I volunteer with Civil Air Patrol as a chaplain and I tell my cadets a positive attitude may not always make things better, but it will give you a better outlook on life.
Yup, Sun City will be there when we are ready, I'm mentally ready now :). Mrs W likes Sun City West, but only because homes are a bit newer. Both are nice, but seems like the original is a better value and lower cost. Either way we will get there soon enough, have pretty much decided 4 years at the longest. A lot can happen between now and then so who knows. Last time we put together a 5 year plan to move from a state we were gone in 1.5 years. So often we think we are in control of our lives and then we are reminded we are simply along for the wonderful ride.

Re motorcycle club. After a bit of searching, I found the link below. Surprise is connected to Sun City (it's west side)

Emily, just wanted to share. We took a trip to see our daughter and family, now in Spirit Lake, IA.
Our son-in-law gave us a factory tour of Polaris where they make Victory, Indian, and the Slingshot.
Lots of fun and looks like a great place to work, although not good enough to ever get me to live there. ;-)
I got the motorcycle bug again and am in the process of buying a mid size cruiser.

It has been 30+ years since I rode and the wife doesn't like them so I decided to go with something used, smaller, and cheaper to see if it is something I still want to do. Found a really nice 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic LT that fits the bill and will be picking it up mid next week. It is from a private owner that developed hip problems and cannot ride anymore. Her husband maintains their bikes and built the HD he currently rides the most.
If I can convince my wife to ride with me and she likes it maybe we will go for an Indian or Victory in the future. My son-in-law said we can use his employee discount anytime he is not using it.
If you ever get the chance to take a trip to Spirit Lake take a factory tour, it is pretty cool to see Victory and Indian in the production process. Of course this is best as a summertime activity. ;-)
