SCAM ALERT It has been brought to the attention of the Sun City Home Owners Association there are people currently placing information pertaining to curb painting on residents' screen doors with a cover page reading "Att. Possible Code Violation." This is not from SCHOA. It is not a violation of Sun City's CC&Rs not to have house numbers painted on the curb. SCHOA is aware this is taking place and addressing the concern.
These curb painters can be aggressive, almost threatening at times, in my neighborhood. They use many scare tactics about fire trucks and ambulances not being able to find your house in the dark. They try to insinuate they are from the city here too, even though the city also paints the numbers for free.
In Sun City, AZ, the painters just put a notice on your garage. How can I get my numbers painted FREE?
I like having the numbers painted on the curb. When they start to fade we hire the next company that comes along and leaves a notice and have them repaint them. I figure that it's $10 well spent, and the painters can probably use that money. The numbers last several years, so it is not a big expense. We have never had the painters be aggressive, or make any claims about it being a code violation, just some guys/gals trying to make a living painting numbers.
pegmih, I didn't mean to confuse. I don't live in Sun City yet. My city paints them for free and yes, they are a good idea.
