The new electronic marquee's are in place at the Sundial Auditorium and the rock work is going on to finish them up. Love to hear folks thoughts on them. They are especially awesome at night, but just curious what people feel about these becoming another way to communicate with residents and keep them appraised of what is going on around the community.
I really am impressed that the marquees have such a beautiful concrete surround with the Sundial motif on them. Will the ones at other centers also have some distinctive symbol? Hope so. They will need to experiment with the color schemes that work best for visibility. I found the black background worked very well but the bright pink was really tough to see the letters against. Are they powered by the solar panels? Hope so.
Spot on scj. The signs are awesome but we need do some work with which colors show the best and how to maximize the promotions we will be doing on them. My position is each one we do will be historical in nature and fitting into the landscape of both the center and the homes surrounding it.
Really like the idea of the framing being historical in nature and that the electronic part is just not plopped into the landscape but surrounded in an artistic manner like the Sundial one. Are they powered by the solar panels?
Yesterday I looked at both the signs at Sundial. The pink letters are difficult to read. Other than that the signs are very attractive and the information is great.
Hey scj. Been busy and wanted to see/ask if we could tie in solar directly to the new signage. Seems like it would be too big a drain to do with its own power source. The good news is that 60% of the electric usage comes from the solar we put in at Sundial so while it's not purely solar driven, certainly some of it is.
Sometimes my eye vision is not the best -- so it is difficult to read - - My idea on these two signs located - - one on Greenway (103rd) - the other on Boswell... would have been to make just one larger sign which could have been placed at the corner of Greenway (103rd) and Boswell. Making it larger would also have increased the letters. Up close reading it - - is no problem - - traveling by auto and moving - - gets a bit tricky -- remember a retirement community does include - "older vision" :concern:
