It used to be you licensed your dog through the county. Now it appears there's a third party company the county is using to license your dog.

Have any of you used this, and if so, any feedback?

While I haven’t used it, appears to provide many benefits to both pet owners and the county.

Dog Licensing Made Easy As MCACC Partners With DocuPet

Licensing dogs is now easier, modernized, and more valuable for residents as Maricopa County Animal Care & Control (MCACC) launches its partnership with DocuPet, a world-leading pet profile, lost pet and licensing platform. Through pet licensing and their complimentary HomeSafe® 24/7 Lost Pet Service, DocuPet offers residents an effective pet identification and reunification program that keeps pets out of shelters and returns them home safely. Though pet licensing is mandatory for dogs in MCACC’s service areas, many local pet owners do not license their pets regularly. With the announcement of this new partnership, DocuPet and MCACC hope to attract community pet owners to the program.

    MORE HERE.

Many counties are partnering with DocuPet, among them are:
    Maricopa AZ
    Pima AZ
    San Diego CA
    Riverside CA

    Thank you.
I did read this and more online and I'm curious as to people who own dogs in our county and have used this third party what their experiences were.
I did not ask for the county to share my personal and private information with a third party whose office location is stated as in New York, but whose customer service may be located elsewhere in the world.

I think that this is a part of the privatization movement that is so popular in some circles. Take some government function and turn it over to a private concern so that they can make a profit off of it. Those folks don't care if you do not like them passing on your (so called) private information.

I have found that, even though one chooses the box that says your private information will not be shared, there appears to be a gray line as to what privacy means to these contract holders. It seems after using one of these services, the spam calls increase and they call you by name. I can’t comment specifically about this service provider, but do watch out for increased calls from unwanted vendors. There exists great hope that those users will be completely satisfied, won’t be spammed and crammed, and have a most valuable experience.
