I feel it is time for recognize our board members for the time they give to our community. These 9 people stood up and offered their time and efforts for service to our community. The effort it takes to be engaged with the needs and demands is exemplary. I know there have been missteps, but there has been a great deal of forward movement as well, especially in the efforts to be more member focused.
Thank you to our board members for your time and dedication, I for one, appreciate it.

    What changed your mind?

Thank you FYI for the easy to understand and read explanation of Fiduciary Duty and its responsibilities. It would appear there are some serious issues with the current board and honoring their sworn oath. It also appears this board has not adhered to ARS Title 10 Rules regarding non profit organizations. In effect, right at this point in time, we have no governing body. I know the idea of filing suits flies in the face of being sane, but this group of individuals is culpable for more than one violation.
Will anyone stand up and stop this? Don’t believe the attorney if he tells you that you can prevail and win big money. By the board’s actions, he cannot represent you in this type of action.

I just don’t see the current board having an epiphany of change, heck, they didn’t even make an offer to explain about not appointing someone to fill the open board vacancy. Just silence. To omnipotent to speak to the membership?

I gave it a fleeting thought of running for the open 1 year position, but with out no change to the board structure, it’s just not worth it. There is such an entrenched culture of being imperialist and aloof, don’t care to play that game. Once again, some forgot that the board is answerable to the members, as we are the corporation.

Just because I do not always agree with the actions or decisions, it never has been a tacit condemnation for their time given and efforts offered. This is a commendation for the hard work and dedication shown by these 9 people. Plain and simple, nothing more than a thank you stepping up and giving of yourselves to the community. The people themselves deserve to be recognized for the the time they offer and they service the provide.

I choose to commend people based on results. I’m not a big fan of participation trophies. I don’t see where we are any better off today than we are a year ago. As the cheerleader likes to say, “Just one man’s opinion”.

Probably just me but I find it odd people could be accused of profiteering, collusion, deliberate and willful manipulation of a governing body for the purpose of diverting resources and funds to a special interest, willful acts planned and executed by certain board members to undermine the credibility of the organization and its self governance 1 or 2 months ago, then praised for their service. Just my opinion but shouldn't it be one or the other?

Offering a commendation for time and effort is not praise for actions. I said I praised their efforts and time given to the community. I never said I agreed with the decisions taken or actions performed. Why try to twist a narrative into a different story?
Why try to dictate what the narrative should be, one way or another? There is always room for agreement to disagree. Offering a compliment to someone for their personal time donated to help the community is my way of being grateful to these folks for giving their time freely. Never said I agree with their decisions on every issue nor did I state that I offer approval of all the decisions.
Thanking someone for their time and effort for doing a job for no money, long hours and little to no reward is little to offer for what these people have to do.

Once again, I thank the members of the RCSC Board of Directors for their time and effort. I may not agree with the decisions made but I appreciate your time given to the community.

What's the old saying? One man's cheerleader is another man's junk yard dog eh?

To the point here; rushing to judgement serves no one well, neither the judge nor the jury. By year's end we will have a better idea if this dog hunts, or if we are just stuck in the same old mud hole, incapable of pushing ourselves out.

With that said, i am flat-out spent with posting tired old adages; both real and imagined.

If you think ten years of no progress is “rushing to judgment” is acceptable for MV, I don’t even have any response. We’ve seen the project cost double during this timeframe and yet nothing has been accomplished. The ante for new residents keeps getting raised and yet nothing is being accomplished. You have said time and time again that the PIF hasn’t hindered home sales. Well there’s a lot of potential homebuyers that may question why they should spend the money if they can’t see any results of their investment. Status quo won’t cut it anymore.

This board has been around since January. I've given more than my fair share of critiques of the miscues Larry and you know that better than most. Last year they suffered through a general manager who saw things differently and he is gone. They blundered through some dumb stuff this year and i've pointed that out as well.

By year end. we need to see:
1). A firm plan of action for Mountain View.
2). A new general manager who is a good fit into our community.
3). A clear direction for the coming challenges for the 2025 water management plan (so far i am unimpressed).
4). Golf sorted out in conjunction with the new director of golf and the golfing community.
5). The bylaws presented to the members for their approval.
6). A forward approach to how new members buying in the community are treated.

I've been fairly blunt about all of these agenda items and many/most of them aren't new. Let's be clear, this isn't all of the stuff they'll be facing. MV should have been done before the Grand Center. Hell, i've argued if we had trusted the membership years back, none of these topics would even be on the table. Instead we were afraid to let members have a voice and we ended up where we are.

Long ways back and it won't be easy. Even with that, i'm not moving out of the community i love, are you?

I probably would look elsewhere if I was buying a house now. That $6k would be a deal breaker for me.

That's what I'm seeing on ND and hearing out and about. The PAC was huge on ND. Couple that with the uncertainty of the BNSF Hub expected train traffic IMO SC and SCW might be in for a bumpy road.

Change: Sad, fun, exciting, interesting, hated, loved thank God it happens. Fire. The wheel. The Abacus. Calculators. Computers. Without change there is no growth. It's not 1960 anymore folks.

And move where? Tell me somewhere less expensive and without the headaches?

Sun City sales are still strong and that trend will continue. Interesting footnote; prices on attached units (roughly a third of 27,000 plus rooftops) are falling hard. Clearly it is another trend around the country with HOA's facing staggering cost increases and worse yet, insurance challenges with hard to find solutions.

Anyone following what is happening around the country knows the real estate market is soft and in part due to interest rates and the other part insurance rates going crazy. This country is absolute turmoil and it would seem to me, Sun City is fairly well positioned to weather the storm. If anyone thinks they should sell because of what may happen in Wikenburg, have at it. The impact on us will be negligible at best.

Everything else going on is just business as usual. If you think not, open your news feeds and start paying attention.

Yep, Powell won't cut interest rates so many can't afford to buy homes. My insurance rates on my home and auto have not changed, so not sure if they are just changing in states that have a higher % for natural disasters like Florida and the Gulf Cost, or Cali where they don't do any forestry cleanup and are prone to fires. Hopefully they find the $100 million that was designated for fire victims.

Attached units have been a nightmare since I moved here. Management companies are terrible. Condos with a small number of units have always been a better deal. They tend to have their residents on the board instead of management companies.

The BNSF will be in Wittmann, not Wickenburg. The number of trains will undoubtedly increase through SC and SCW unless you know another way to get those double stacked containers to the hub. Currently there is a clause in every home purchase contract regarding the Luke AFB noise. Wonder if there will be another added about train horns.

And yes, you are correct, everything else here is business as usual, however, as you pointed out many times things started going downhill in 2006. Is business as usual a good thing?

Sierra Vista is a lovely community. They do have a 55+ community as well. Much less expensive, the cost of living in Sierra Vista, AZ is 9.4% lower than the national average, housing in Sierra Vista is 17.4% less expensive than the national average. High temp in summer are around 90 degrees.

From Niche: The town is very safe and largely populated with active duty military, veterans, and border patrol agents. It is an absolutely splendid town. Fort Huachuca is nearby providing amenities such as bowling and shopping. The community is loving and supportive as well as beautiful.
