Your remarks old and tired brought me back to the good old days when the talk of widening Grand Ave (Highway 60) like they did east of the 101 to help move traffic along included Sun City. The argument was with more traffic we (the residents) would need for the train tracks to include over-passes on at least 99th and 107th Ave. Some questioned if 111th fell into the same category?

The problem was mostly focused on long delays at those lights when ambulances were left waiting for trains to get through. Obviously anyone south of Grand Ave was left in a bad way in the case of an emergency and needing to get to Banner hospital. That also triggered concerns of seniors crossing Grand Ave (foot traffic, cars and golf cars) with higher volumes of cars and trucks, hence the over passes addressing the concerns.

If memory serves me, even back then (circa the late 2000's), the cost of an overpass was staggering. Imagine what it would be now and then multiply it by three. The other issue was how long it would take to get done. Then compound it with the same concerns on Grand Ave, the overpass they built at Bell road and then figure the same concerns we have in Sun City and what those multiple exits in Sun City West would need (across Grand to enter The Grand), or have access to Highway 60. And let's not forget the communities between us, Youngtown and El Mirage.

I know the revenue produced would be huge. I suspect the quality of life for all of us living at our near it would suffer. Like so much happening these days, i just say, thank God i am old.

Hi Bill, all residents in West and SC should also be concerned about this project because if RR traffic increases in a big way this will really hurt quality of life for us over here.

Sorry FYI, but MAGAs wouldn’t know the truth if it bit them. Want to know what TACO Don is believing, it’s the opposite of what he says. Due process, no due process for you, totally obliterated Iran nuclear site, nope and pictures to prove it but do you believe TACO or your lying eyes, Big Beautiful Bill helping working and lower class, nope Medicaid, SNAP, school lunches gone, PBS and NPR gone because somehow Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch are plotting a coup and Ken Burns documentaries are communist, socialist propaganda and NPR weather warnings are fake info. DNI Director Tulsi Gabbards is out of her league and TACO boy has already said he believes Putin’s intelligence force more than ours, not to mention Putin has given Trump the high hard one on more than one occasion on Ukraine. Trump now believes he is being played by Putin, well yeah. Doesn’t know how tariffs work, has said parts of the Constitution are outdated and should be eliminated, wants to revoke citizenship of natural born Americans and if current residents deport them because they call him out on his BS. Any word when we can expect TACO’s version of the Nueremburg Laws? Look it up.

As for Obama, etal I believe your information is from those cable stations operating out closets delivered by failed college communication majors.

I expect you will not respond because you have run from me at every turn sad you have no verifiable facts to support your position.

    Have a positive day.

The BNSF rail yard is a done deal because money talks and bs walks. You want to go up against Warren Buffet, be my guest.

Hi Geoff, I agree it is done deal. I think it is. We need to start tapping our political leaders in here to find out how much heavy RR traffic would come thru the Sun Cities. I'm not sure if the trains would go this way. I would like to know the answer to that question. Thanks.

I won't respond to you for two reasons:
    1. I will never change your mind.
    2. You can't hold a civil and respectful conversation without calling people names.

Perhaps if you watched some of those cable stations instead of the ones that keep on canceling their shows and firing their anchors, you might actually learn the whole story?

Funny that I haven't seen any reporting on the ODNI's released documents on the stations you watch!

    Eileen,
There’s one track running between 35th Avenue out to where the new hub is located. Guess how much more train traffic there is going to be? I don’t know if trying to expand the number of rail tracks is feasible considering the amount of landlocked areas. I fear the train traffic will skyrocket and we, the locals who live here are probably stuck with the outcome.

Will any properties adjacent to the tracks in Sun City be taken by eminent domain in order to accommodate rail expansion for the additional train traffic?

I seem to remember that at one time they were talking about extending the light rail into Peoria running along side the existing tracks?

Light rail is a different track set up, as I recall. Less weight carried and less capacity. Could be wrong, haven’t read the specifics for a number of years.

FYI, since I have Roku, I have watched these stations, Real America, Newsmax 1 &2, Fox, War Room with a convicted felon and some others that are apparently pop up jokes. Of course if you actually read books and periodicals such as Foreign Affairs you might learn something but MAGA thrives on lies they are told by a bunch of two bit hustlers and con men.

The current Epstein case reminds of two things from days of yesteryear. The first was when I was a child I read the story of Be’er Rabbit and the Tar Baby. While politically incorrect now, it is appropriate as Be’er Rabbit tried to extricate himself from the tar baby, the more he tried, the more he was stuck to the baby. The more Trump tries to get rid of the story, the more it sticks to him. The second harkens back to the days of Watergate when we were young and Rich was in high school. The Epstein files are the equivalent of Nixon’s tapes. He kept dribbling them out until he was finally nailed with the coverup. Trump is directing Bondi or Patel to release Grand Jury transcripts which are next to nothing. If the complete files are ever released there will be redactions and I’ll bet those redactions will be less than kind to Trump. This could be his downfall. The only thing we need is a guest appearance by John Dean telling Trump that “ there is a cancer growing on your presidency.” Ain’t history a bitch.

Roku does not have free access to Newsmax. You have to pay $4.99/month. For Fox you have to subscribe to a streaming channel that has it, such as Sling. Hulu+Live TV, YouTube TV, FuboTV etc. Somehow, I find it difficult to believe you would actually pay to watch conservative TV. Also, Real America's Voice is a podcast not available on Roku or any streaming device.

Interesting question, and more-so whether Grand Ave will need to be expanded? Again from years gone by, former discussions suggested there really wasn't enough room to add another track; it's already pretty tight north of Grand Ave. If there was going to be a land grab, i would think it would come on the South side; you know, where the Grand Center is.

Things that make you go hmmmmmmm

What exculpatory evidence? What destroyed evidence that technically belongs to the National Archives? What videos that certainly were shown on Fox, Newsmax and OAN but no where else. Since I cannot receive those channels how do I view them.

Pray tell! Since when does discussing BNSF Railroad have squat to do with the discord displayed in this thread? While whole heartedly wanting to use every four letter word in my repertoire and a few other colorful phrases, I don’t. This space is for those who want to share ideas about this community. Not the name calling, shaming and bullying that has become a problem on this thread and site.

Please feel free to find another site dedicated to the bitterness and malcontent a few want to wallow in.
I want Talk of Sun City returned to those wishing for civility and respect for one another opinions that reflects tolerance and understanding. Please
