As the courses are laid out in their current format. There appears to be some availability of under utilized green space which, with the addition of natural landscaping and retooling the current footprint, could make room for multiple use options. The TPC in Scottsdale, for example, has won awards for its utilization of space, lowering their water costs and being a biodiversity resource in the region. No, not trying to be Scottsdale, just a model of ideas that could be used in Sun City.

retooling the current footprint would cost how many millions? Much more than turf reduction. All golfers would be against it. All people that live on the course would be against it. Any board member that would even suggest it would be recalled.

I understand and agree Tom. Though effective revenue raising and saving strategies need to be enacted, sooner rather then later. And yes I know an effort is being made in this regard.

It ain't, nor should it. If we are to survive and flourish the old template of those paying the least getting the premium tee times has to change. Every golf course understands the importance of maximizing high season tee times; we wallowed in a system that was counter-intuitive.

I really like the new director of golf and i think he will work with the entire golfing community to find the best solutions.
