All 5 snack shops Snack Shops
serve a variety of breakfast and lunch items to golfers and the public.

Someone posted about one of the snack shops where you had a good view of golfing.
Which one was it? When the weather cools off I am going to eat at a Snack Shop.

I really like the one across from Fry's since it overlooks a putting green to the right so you get the free entertainment, but unfortunately none maximize the possible views since most put a parking lot between you and the course. Long-range plans should think about remodeling one and turning one into a real restaurant with big windows, nice patio, etc. A bar! Love the one at SC Festival with views and bar and a lively, classy atmosphere.

It's all part of dragging Sun City (original) into the 21st century...upgrade, spruce up, seek new ideas, and move forward......I think that is a great idea jack

Mountain View has a very nice restaurant and patio.
I have been to luncheons in both places.

But Mountain View doesn't have an RCSC snack shop, it's just happens to be located nest to the SC Country Club which is now (thankfully) open to the public. You're right--pleasant place. Wish Union Hills and the other one (geez, can't rem the name--something with Palms in it I think), would follow suit. Seems silly not to allow others to dine there and be satisfied to have those restaurants way below capacity and not humming with conversation instead of feeling like a ghost restaurant.
Thanks archer, I think so many of us have good ideas, but hard to get any action on them with present structure. Unfortunately, we may lose a whole generation of newbies as they move in, get dispirited, and then withdraw....

The snack shops are all clean, reasonably priced and now have wifi access. Soon the hours will be extended for the winter season.

Re: that snack shop by North golf course (across from Fry's), since the course is going to be renovated, the snack shop will also (drat) be closed for about a year. I just called the course and was told from Dec.1, 2013 until c. Nov. 2014 is the timeline.

Just called to see why it's not on the site and they said they let their restaurant person go and it is not open. He said info would be posted when they start it up again. Said they have hot dogs and drinks and chips now....That is sad news. I really liked their 1/2 sandwich and soup--good soup. Liked to eat there before or after the plays at Mountainview. Hope it'll be up and running before they start up.

When I went to eye doc on Wednesday
I noticed they have a small restaurant just inside the main entrance.
It has short hours and was already closed when I left at 2:30.
Can't remember name. The same one is at Bell Bowling.

Is your eye doc at Boswell Medical West bldg? If so, I think you are referring to La Petite Cafe. The one at Bell used to be of that name too but changed fairly recently. I cannot offer praise to La Petite. I went there for breakfast and received a fork with someone else's egg on it. Told woman who seemed to be both server and cashier. She said "Oh, that's okay" and didn't seem to want to bring me another until I asked. Then my cup had a chip at the lip and when I pointed it out she said "I know." She's the one I always see there when I pass so never felt urge to return. What other things are going on that she can just brush off? Too bad. Lots of appts in that bldg but now I go over to Banner Boswell's restaurant where I am never anything but pleasantly surprised at their offerings, salad bar, fresh soups, etc. One time their chef was making fresh crepes on a side table and folks were lined up. I just wish it had more atmosphere like windows with views, but it's pleasant.

    Yep, that's Banner Boswell's cafeteria.
That La Petite Cafe at the building called BMW (Boswell Medical West) was certainly a disappointment. Sometime before my episode, it had made it on the Dean's List on TV for being clean, so don't know what happened, but it sure lost my confidence.
