What does sense of community mean to you?

Guys,

Lifes transitions are funny. I am in the process of rebuilding a community in the ghost town in Colorado where I now live. I think my task is much easier as the few people I have to deal with all have a common history so that is where I am starting. I am hosting a happy birthday party on July 4th for my cabin's 100th birthday.

But I digress. As the word suggests a community is built from a common core - a small group of people who are admired for who they are and how they conduct themselves. This core realizes the immense benefits of working together and getting people truly involved in their own success. They work hard to engage others in a positive way. In an ideal RCSC world this core would be the Board and the committees working hand in hand with management to provide a positive welcoming environment (where everybody knows your name and we're always glad you came).
From my personal experience I can honestly say this is not the environment RCSC creates for me or my friends. I tried to change this, but life is short. I really appreciate y'all taking up the banner.

And dare I say I, IMHO, make the best coffee!

I roast my own single estate green beans (currently Kenya Kirinyaga Kii AA) to a perfect City, City + roast, then freshly grind them just before brewing in a French Press at the perfect temperature of 95-205 for 4 minutes!

And black is the only way to drink coffee!

 

Eyes, you know about the room at the Bell Center Library? I think it will hold about 10 people and I don't believe you need to reserve it.

If the group ends up enlarging there's also the separate building located behind Menke Funeral Home that they offer for free as long as it's not scheduled for anything else. I can give you the contact information if need be.

 

FYI,
With coffee credentials such as yours, I would say you have designated you and your superb coffee as a participant? I will immediately fall out of favor, as I drink coffee with cream and sugar. Since I don’t drink coffee black, I will be most honored just to smell the aroma of your blend. Just because I don’t drink it, doesn’t mean I don’t love the smell of a great cup of coffee. Yes, I think I have already established myself as weird.

This initial small meeting will hopefully expand requiring a larger venue.

I certainly hope you're correct, but if past experience is any indication, you typically start out with a good number but as things are needed to be done, you suddenly find people dropping out!?!?

 

I drink it black but enjoy an occasional cup of flavored. Not quite the lengths you go through Tom, i'm a happy camper with a K-cup. Angelino's makes great coffee but a bit pricey compared to Kirkland cups.
