I like this post, a lot. It helps those who are unaware of the never-ending costs for repair and maintenance of what we own understand the challenge. What's truly terrifying is the costs for everything we own will continue to explode.

The days of cheap anything are long over.

Bill, you're so right. The wear and tear on our Rec Centers should be a concern to members. I have been saying this for years. We need to charge non-residents who plow in to use our pools, pickle ball courts, showers and the like, we should be charging a LOT more than letting in all these so called 'guests in to our once private facilities. I was at Marinette late yesterday evening. You have groups of 8 people coming in as so-called guests to use pool and pickleball courts. Someone is having a lot of fun as a non-resident in our Rec Centers. No wonder we have to keep spending thousands of dollars to keep these places clean and working. This place no longer feels like a private membership community.

If able, share your concerns and suggestions with our interim general manager, Mike Dirmyer, this Thursday, June 12th, from 11:00am-12:30pm, Lakeview Recreation Center Board Room. He plans to continue these chats, let’s participate so he does! Oh, additional incentive, pizza provided!

I wonder if they have plan B if a crowd turns up? The boardroom holds roughly 50 people crammed in tightly.
