Today, August 29, 2013, is National Whiskey Sour Day..

The whiskey sour is a mixed drink containing whiskey (often Bourbon), lemon juice, sugar, and optionally, a dash of egg white to make it a Boston Sour. It is shaken and served either straight or over ice.

Have you ever had a Whiskey Sour? I haven’t but I just might try one.

Whiskey sours and Manhattans were really popular drinks with my parents generation..... As were at home cocktail parties. You don't see them much anymore.

A hot whiskey sour was my mom's favorite remedy for fever with a cough..... I use it to this day and it does work (well maybe the whiskey makes me think it is working) I'm sure no doctor would prescribe it.
