The NEW RCSC website definitely needs a Wall

Those who are familiar with the "wall" that was used by triARC (for the Mountain View project) as well as the "wall" used on the Maricopa County Framework 2040 (Comprehensive Plan) website understand what I'm referring to.

It's a place where members can publicly post their comments and concerns directly to triARC and or Maricopa County. The comments can be read by everyone and members can add their own comments or concerns.

I believe the new RCSC website should include their own "wall" where Members can post their comments or concerns and others can respond. It would be something like a combination of a poll and petition!

    What could be posted?

How about asking the Members their opinion on allowing Snowbirds to run and sit on the Board?
How about allowing Members to serve as Chair or Co-Chair on Committees?
Should the RCSC reestablish a Legal Aid committee?

There are many items that could be directly brought to the RCSC without having to attend a Member/Board Exchange as well as immediately seeing what other Members may think!

    Just my opinion!

Favor the WALL, if Admin/monitor keeps it relevant and courteous!! Also, dedicated staff ensures timely, accurate responses to questions, concerns.

Would probably be a good idea but... There are a few individuals who misuse the existing sites. Thanks to Denny Nichols we have an electronic comment card system. Perhaps that could be used as a trial balloon?

The Customer Engagement platform is not as advertised on the launch page…it’s only for facility service requests. :( Could, should be much more.

    • RCSC CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT PLATFORM

Submit your compliments, concerns, and requests online!

    • Link to Customer Engagement

The one thing wrong with those cards is, nobody else gets to see them and comment.

At least with a virtual wall, Members get to see the topics and can further comment for or against the issue.

One observation is there are those who comment on everything. If the system becomes overloaded with member comments, we may be embedding inefficiency.

I agree it will need to be moderated but I suspect it would naturally be so, so that those items that are posted by the Members are actually being addressed?

Actually you already have a wall. Its called TOSC.
If the board does not use TOSC why would they bother looking at a wall?
A wall on the website as suggested would become just another TOSC with all the same issues.
Then too, if a moderator is required, you just added a new cost to RCSC.
If people have access to a wall on the web site then they also have access to TOSC. A link from the web site to TOSC would be sufficient.
How many people post to TOSC - and you expect more posts on the web site?
I would rather see a a POLL feature on the site. The BOD can post a question looking for a member responses (YES or NO).
    Just an opinion.

Not really! The person who monitors those electronic comment cards can monitor the wall!

I wouldn't compare it to TOSC for several reasons, one of which is there's very few people who comment on this blog, so I wouldn't classify it as good resourse. Besides, even IF any Directors actually read this blog they are under no obligation to do anything about any of the comments. But if comments went directly to the RCSC then I would expect that they would need to be addressed?

    Just my opinion.
