Definitely control, but I don't think power fits the individuals on our current board. In fact, didn't we elect the Directors to have control over RCSC business and operations? If they don't, Members complain that the GM and staff aren't being held accountable. That puts them between a rock and a hard place, in my opinion. It's hard to let go and trust others to steer the organization in the right direction, but volunteer Board members shouldn't have to work a 30-40 hour week.

They shouldn't, but unless or until they trust members who want to help, they'll keep burying themselves in work and never break the mold that had been poured over the past 15 plus years.

I think the issue is the Board does not trust members to come up with the decisions the board wants.

I wanted to make sure I was telling the truth so I verified it with the administrator. You were kicked off of The Lone Cactus Blog.

Is that specific enough for you?

Fine, that was like pulling teeth. When was this done and did I have a chance to respond? I think it was done when I had that medical unpleasantness a few years. I still read the Cactus and I find it hard it hard to believe the posts he writes. I know he is a conservative but this is crazy town that ignores bedrock foundation of our country. The comments seem to be everyone agreeing for the most part, trying to convince each other that this nonsense is true.
I presume you saw the article of Trump confusing Harvard with Harlem, somehow the population was rioting over Harvard/Harlem.

I know there may be a desire to continue the conversation about another site, but this is Talk of Sun City. I personally would prefer that the topics remain salient to the community and not jump to the conclusions from another political site.
Just my opinion but I don’t think it’s prudent for the discussion from one site to be the topic here,
    Thank you.

    Bill,
I don’t see any movement towards placing some of the community concerns into the hands of the members for their input or assistance. Not to be condescending, but I am not sure they know where to start. They have themselves so tightly wrapped in the minutiae, it’s possible it’s not easy to view what could be resolved by involving members for assistance and support. The old can’t see the forest for the trees problem. Stepping back can be most difficult when so deeply entrenched in the current situation.

With all due respect, this is why nobody believes anything you read from Dave.

He's a contrarian. Dave knew very well that he was kicked-off of that other website , but he had too challenge the statement as if it was a made-up lie.

I don't know why I even bother responding to Dave. I hate to do it, but if you don't respond you're left believing the lie that Dave is pushing.

I believe the point is the Board does not want member involvement with commitment they want members informed and compliant. I truly believe that is not the way to enhance a community and may be why there are so many disgruntled members and each board election seems to end up with a kick the bums out attitude. I hope we are not headed there again.
