On another thread we started chatting about steam rooms and saunas and that got me thinking that maybe a "wish list" might be fun to start. Maybe when we post we can add a few words to explain and help make our case. Might be interesting.
Once we get a good list going here, we can create a poll and see that works.....

Tops on my list, and easy to do, are benches in the grassy medians for the use of walkers and dog walkers.....It would also be nice to have some shade trees in place of the orange trees that get trimmed back to nothing every few years and offer no shade in the warmer months.

How can you have a party without food & drink?

Bell has a nice area next to the big pool for gettogethers.
So I suppose you could water walk get out and eat, water walk get out and drink...........
Whoops. Who will drive who home?????

We have had small-group socials at the Bell Walking Pool area and it was a lot of fun. I would like to see a time when the whole pool was one big party -- alcohol optional. It is fun to visit with the walkers on land, too.

People will always have opportunities to meet others who have similar interests....what's fun is to meet people you would otherwise never run into in the course of a normal day.....when all you have in common is location.....I love finding out about people, where they came from, what their interests are, how they came to live in Sun City.

You would enjoy volunteering at the SC Visitor Center where you meet people who live here and those who plan to. Also, working for the SC Posse you also meet a variety of people.

I volunteer at those place so have first hand knowledge of what you do & who you meet.

I did not know the centers are alcohol free. My group brought wine on plastic containers and we brought finger food and had a great time.

Am getting confused about the wishes here--is someone proposing rec centers no longer be alcohol-free? Is there really no beer sold at the concessions at the bowling alleys?

The RCSC has liquor license at any number of their locations. What you can't do is bring in your own; though I suspect that rule is broken upon occasion.

CANNOT bring your own ----Thanks for the clarification, BP.
In addition -- I do not believe you can have liquor in the swimming pool areas....

Good to get that liquor info straightened out.
Wish list addition: a demonstration kitchen with mirror so people can see what is going on in the pots and on the counter, etc. It would also help since it would be a working kitchen for events. Found out Fairway is classified as a warming station so no cooking is allowed. When Handicapables brought in a great pizza baker guy with his own porta oven, staff came and fire dept. told them to stop and shut it down as it was not allowed and they couldn't even finish baking the ones people were waiting for. Is there any rec center that is not just a warming station?
