Being the all around nice guy i am aspiring to be, i elected to ignore the giant Tesla sales event held in front of the White House. In my opinion, it was both tacky and beneath the dignity that should come with being the president of the United States. Being a shill for Tesla and reading a scripted promotion as if you were a new car salesman (better than a used car salesman), was unbecoming.

I get it though, trump was trying to help out his buddy elon (who has taken a multi-billion dollar haircut via his Tesla stock ownership) by cutting a truly bigly and most impressive infomercial for him. Clearly musk turned his back on his target market EV buyers (you know, the folks who thought they were doing their part to save Mother Earth by buying a Tesla) and traded them in for a chain saw and to appear at rallies with trump and jumping about like a madman on something more than diet coke.

It wasn't until last night when the bride was heard laughing aloud and hollering, "you've got to see this." Rachel Maddow was previewing the commercial(?) where Paula White was selling her Highway to Heaven shtick. For those unaware, Paula was hired/anointed by trump this year to become his "White House Faith Advisor." I'm cool with that, any kind of religious guidance for the president should be viewed as a plus; right?

At first blush, her remarks from her own infomercial seem okay: "I believe that when you honor God on Passover, starting on April 12 at sundown…. You can receive these seven supernatural blessings…. According to Exodus 23, God will assign an angel to you. He'll be an enemy to your enemies. He'll give you prosperity. He'll take sickness away from you. He will give you long life."

And then it all went to hell (pardon my abruptness) when a narrator says, "For your special Passover offering of $1,000 or more, as the Holy Spirit leads, you will also receive the beautiful 10-inch Waterford crystal cross. Don’t miss your moment to release seven supernatural blessings and provision into your life!"

There's more, way more but you get the point. Mega-church preachers have been enriching themselves for years. Who am i to argue that by feeding their fabulously extravagant lifestyle believers aren't rewarded with a better seat at the heavenly table? Not my cause, not my hill to die on. But this one was too much.

Working for the president and using that position to sell salvation is simply a bridge too far. If she needs the money that bad, 47 should give her a pay raise eh? I'd post the video, but i have no interest in hearing any more whining about "fake news."

Just a friendly reminder, to enjoy those 7 super natural blessings...you need to get that $1000 to Paula before Easter. I guess after that, you are out of luck.

Jim and Tammy Baker, Joel Osteen, Franklin Graham. You don't mention them because they are not involved with Trump. Eventually your hate for him will eat you alive. Hey, you never answered my question about due process for the murdered girls by the gang members and how you would feel if it was your wife. Would you want them back? Don't want to answer? Too uncomfortable of a topic?

This is truly one of the most unsettling things i have read in a long time. That getting on a list means that you loose your rights to "court time."
Another issue that pops up here again and again has to do with Laken Riley's rights. As horrible as that case is, her rights were "On November 20, 2024, Judge Haggard found him (her killer) guilty of all charges and sentenced him to life in prison without possibility of parole." which was not going to bring her back, but her case did have its day in court. But the folks shipped off to El Salvador did not have a day in court. So they appeared on a terrorist list. Maybe. We have not seen the list nor had it confirmed that everyone sent away was on such a list. Who put them on the list? Some 20 year old who used to work for Musk?

We don't have to go far looking for American women being attacked and even murdered in our country. How many women have been attacked or murdered by illegals? Now how many have been attacked and murdered by Americans? Look up the statistics for just Native women. No, let's just focus on one terrible case and ignore that this is a wide spread occurrence here, under Democrats and Republicans. Though only Republicans seem to put these perps in the White House & the Supreme Court.

That is one of the dumbest statements I have ever read. These people are violent gang members. 3 other women/girls were killed. How many is too many? Her case had its day in court????? Why don't you write a letter to her family stating that. I'm sure it will take all their grief and pain away. I take back my fun guy comment about you. IMO you are heartless.

The word parsing begins. The discussion of launch times, packages, times and targets are classified items by the Defense Department’s own standards. Then there is the Federal Records Act and the Espionage Act. The Secretary of Defense and his minions are up to heir respective asses in alligators. If this happened with Democrats the Republicans heads would be exploding. This is what happens with a DEI hire, Drunk, Excusable, Inc9mpetent.

Are you sure since there was not court hearing to determine that, just the word of thug-in-chief who also said he doesn’t have to abide by court rulings, same goes for the Orange Augustus Caesar. I am not heartless, I believe in the Constitution and the rule of law. You, 9n the other hand believe in legal mob rule. How many families, especially Hispanic, do feel deeply for as a result of gun violence in mass killings. Those families at that predominately Hispanic school in Texas, you have deep feeling for their of young children or do you believe that some were illegals and their lives are disposable? Who is the despicable one here?

First rule taught in debate is that isolated incidents are proof of nothing in the theory of large numbers. What wins in debate is the argument based on logic.

We could belabor which comes first; common sense or abiding by the governing documents of our country, but alas, some of you appear to think your MAGA approach (please don't conflate the nonsense with actual conservative values; it's insulting) is tantamount to common sense. We could debate this of course and we can let you pound on your chests about the Maga mandate, but it appears there's trouble in paradise.

    Think not? Elise Stefanik!

Yikes, trump crapped the bed so bad over the special election for her house seat, he had to pull her nomination for U. N. Ambassador. Such a shame as she wept real tears for leaving all the little people behind in her district as she went to her penthouse in the sky. Nice gig if you can get it...and now she can't.

See, that mandate (that never was) is melting faster than Rudy Giuliani's shoe polish in the heat; apologies to those of you who watch FOX News and they didn't show you the clip of it streaming down his face. What's really funny is trump's declaration they've had two perfect months and Signalgate was this one little glitch. I do love the 50 or so lame excuses for how and why...helpful hint: Just say we screwed up, we'll do better next time.

Here's my question for all you trump fans: If these past two months were perfect, why worry about a special election where the Maga-ites were so highly thought of? And, for a bonus, if these months were so good, what the hell will the next 22 months look like?

Again, I ask how would you know that without a day in court to see the evidence and present a defense. The real reason for all this was in a little seen article I came across a month or so ago where Cpl. Bonespurs went off on a rant that we are not deporting enough people, he didn’t like the numbers. So Sgt. Schultz of ICE started sweeping people of the street as they say. Now he is going after college students with secret evidence and storing them far away from their families with no visitation.
Yup the SS lives on in the United States. To paraphrase some slug said last year, if they can do it to them, then can do it to you. Schalft gut tonight.

You buying the Trump kool aid by the gallon now or are you and Tom getting a smoking hot deal at Walmart? Trump doesn’t think unless it’s a new grift. He is transactional in his thinking, hates memos more than a page long and is totally obtuse. He doesn’t know anything, doesn’t want to know anything, doesn’t care that he doesn’t know anything. That is your president, just wants bootlickers.

I have been wondering how much Tesla vandalism has been going on, so, as is my want, I went to wikipedia for the information. Here is what I found:

"Beginning in early 2025, there has been an increased number of incidents of vandalism targeting Tesla property, including vehicles, dealerships, and charging stations. The incidents have been part of a larger wave of protests against Elon Musk, Tesla's owner and a key figure of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The majority of incidents have occurred in the United States, and have also been reported in Canada, France, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Attorney General Pam Bondi have labeled the vandalism as domestic terrorism and President Donald Trump suggested the perpetrators be sent to prison in El Salvador. Although Musk has suggested that the vandalism is funded and coordinated, the FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives said they could not find any evidence that attacks have been coordinated.
    Incidents
    Canada
In Vancouver, police arrested a man suspected on vandalizing a Tesla dealership multiple times between January 1 and March 21, spray-painting obscenities on the building.[1] In Montreal, police arrested two members of an activist group who sprayed paint on a dealership.[2]
On March 17, a Tesla Model S was set on fire in the parking lot of Masonville Place in London, Ontario. No injuries were reported.[3]
On March 20, 80 Teslas were damaged at a dealership in Hamilton, Ontario, with cars having deep scratches and tires punctured.[4]
    France
Around a dozen Teslas were set on fire outside a dealership in Toulouse on February 23. Eight cars were destroyed and another four were damaged.[5]

    Response
    Government officials
In a Truth Social post, President Trump suggested people who vandalized Teslas should be sent to prisons in El Salvador,[41] the same country where the United States had recently sent hundreds of migrants.[42] Trump also claimed, without evidence, that "people that are very highly political on the left" were paying the vandals.[43]
Attorney General Pam Bondi described Tesla vandalism as "nothing short of domestic terrorism" and vowed to "impose severe consequences on those involved in these attacks, including those operating behind the scenes to coordinate and fund these crimes."[44]
Elon Musk said those vandalizing cars should "stop being psycho" and called Tesla a "peaceful company".[45] He said he believed there was a "mental illness thing going on", and suggested that the perpetrators were being led by a "larger force" who were funding and coordinating the violence.[46]
Law enforcement and domestic terrorism experts have found no evidence that the attacks are coordinated.[43]
On March 24, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) launched an invesstigation task force. The director of the FBI, Kash Patel, has called the attacks "domestic terrorism".[47] Bruce Hoffman, senior fellow for counterterrorism and homeland security at the Council on Foreign Relations agreed with the classification of terrorism by saying "It's absolutely domestic terrorism. Vandalism is a crime that if it's committed with a political motive, can certainly be defined as terrorism." [48]

Trump moves to strip unionization rights from most federal workers
    Hassan Ali Kanu
Fri, March 28, 2025 at 3:04 PM UTC2 min read
President Donald Trump is trying to revoke collective bargaining rights from most federal employees — the latest move in his aggressive campaign to weaken the federal workforce.
Trump issued an executive order late Thursday night relying on a rarely used provision of the federal labor laws that authorizes the president to exclude agencies from long-standing unionization rights if he determines that those agencies are primarily engaged in national security work.
The order purports to end collective bargaining with federal unions at numerous federal agencies and subdivisions, including the Departments of Agriculture, Defense, Health and Human Services, Justice, State and Veterans Affairs, as well as the EPA and USAID. It also authorizes the Transportation secretary to exclude the Federal Aviation Administration and any other subdivision from labor rights.
The order would eliminate collective bargaining rights from roughly 67 percent of the entire federal workforce and for 75 percent of workers who are already in a union, according to a report by Government Executive, a publication that covers the business of government primarily for an audience of senior bureaucrats.
The anti-unionization move comes amid a series of other efforts to drastically deplete the federal workforce and bring the bureaucracy under the strict control of the White House. The Trump administration is trying to fire tens of thousands of probationary federal employees, despite initial court rulings blocking the terminations. And many agencies are implementing massive “reductions in force.”
Federal employees’ unions have been at the forefront of legal challenges to many of Trump’s actions in the first two months of his term. They have filed lawsuits seeking to halt billionaire Elon Musk’s government-efficiency operation from accessing sensitive federal data; to block policies making it easier to fire government officials; and to reinstate thousands of fired federal workers, among others.
One major union for federal employees pledged to swiftly challenge Trump’s new executive order in court.
“President Trump's latest executive order is a disgraceful and retaliatory attack on the rights of hundreds of thousands of patriotic American civil servants — nearly one-third of whom are veterans — simply because they are members of a union that stands up to his harmful policies,” American Federation of Government Employees President Everett Kelley said in a statement. “AFGE is preparing immediate legal action.”
Federal employees’ rights to join a union and bargain collectively over their employment terms were established in the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978.
Trump’s executive order, published after 10 p.m. Thursday, was accompanied by guidance from the Office of Personnel Management informing agencies that they are “no longer required to collectively bargain with Federal unions” and to stop participating in grievance procedures — the formal complaint mechanism used by unionized workers. OPM also “advised” agencies that they no longer have to comply with laws that require advance notice and other procedures when implementing layoffs.

Nice posts CT and terrific research. When you come down to it Trump and his jellyfish spine Congress have done nothing to make our lives better other than sign paper tucked into a folder that looks like a menu from one of his overpriced crappy restaurants. Inflation up, food prices essentially static since he took office, gas prices up and will increase again next m9nth if the gas futures are any indication ( they are), mortgage rate still high, Federal Discount rate will be the same until better economic news happens, due process is almost down the tubes, only thing thing keeping us from becoming a dictatorship is an independent judiciary and Trump wants to get rid of any judge or district Fed or State that rules against him. That is just scratching the surface of what this megalomaniac wants done.
