I'll spare everyone my thoughts and let the agenda speak for itself: RECREATION CENTERS OF SUN CITY, INC. I am disappointed and ashamed. IMHO the Board just burned up any little bit of credibility it had. Legally, unless the judge intervenes the RCSC and its lawyer will have deprived 32,000 members of their right to vote. Admittedly, it is very unlikely the judge will intervene. Hiding behind a hidden legal opinion is shameful. Do you think the members will trust this Board with anything? I know my answer.
So the entire members meeting has been reduced to two and a half hours of nothing being accomplished on behalf of the members? If I am understanding the agenda correctly, this meeting is continuing only because it has to as written in the current bylaws? The complete ignoring of the members at their own members meeting. Doesn’t that beat all?
FYI, since you are the resident expert on ROR, it is possible for the members to ask 9ne the meeting has started for a suspension of the meeting to a future date when the kabuki theater on the motion by the lawyers is complete? Just asking.
FYI, I trust your extensive knowledge of the Robert’s Rules of Order. Is there a way to request a specific motion be removed from consideration once the meeting has started? I truly believe this would be the best option to preserve the corporation and also provide the necessary relief for the organization to maintain its current status. I know the motions are not available to be voted on, but what about asking for relief by requesting it be removed from consideration? Thank you so much
