You are correct CT and how did that work out for them?

I never said that they predicted stagflation or recession, others did who are real economists.

I am sorry you are having such a hard time grasping the concept that Wiki in itself cannot be trusted. Your one statement may be true but because I could get on that page and change October 1940 to October 1941, that unless you verify dates and any other info Wiki says is true you can't trust it until verified through another source. That is why professors don't allow students to cite Wiki as a reliable source.

    Hope this helps.

As I have said in the past, stay away from Constitutional law. It may be reserved but the Feds input is in the Constitution, a section you guys love to partially quote but never read the whole section. Guess what I am talking about. Josie don’t even try as this is way above your pay grade.

I understand the issues about wikipedia, they are mostly false flag ones. I mean, let's fact check Donald Trump and see what we find and yet I doubt that would sway you away from him. Being a vandal to prove your point is pretty weak, it reveals much more about you than it does about wikipedia.

I would not vandalize anything. You just can't accept Wiki is not considered legit. I don't ever use Wiki for that reason, there are a lot of people in the world who would manipulate data. I am not one, however there appears to be a lot of people here that are very accusatory. So now you are saying I am a vandal. I would suggest lying about me says a hell of a lot more about you as a person.

Apparently your TDS has finally fried your brain! Then why mention Navarro and Sentilli unless you were implying that those Trump supporters believe stagflation and a recession is coming?

Always good to stop by this thread and catch up on the national political scene news. It's been a month now with the new guy in office despite all of those day one promises, we have seen the price of eggs go up, the stock market go down and the price of gas go up as well. Most of us with a live brain cell understood no one can fix anything on day one, just odd the guy making the promises didn't understand that. Of course, once those tariffs kick in, we'll really see the impact.

Speaking off promises, when can we expect to see the taxes on seniors, taxes on tipped workers and taxes on overtime go away? We know Leon has been out there telling us all about the millions and billions of dollars he's saving us...which is curious, because at the same time, Speaker of the House Johnson is putting forward a 4 trillion dollar increase in the debt ceiling. Maybe Tom can help me understand the logic behind all this savings starting with M's and B's and then the necessity of all those dreaded T's being added to the federal deficit. I'm all ears.

Finally, i'm really looking forward to the savings we'll see when trump tells the insurance industry he's removed the whole climate change hoax by getting rid of all those pesky scientists who were promoting it. Lord knows with them gone, all of those nasty weather events will stop and we should be getting hefty cuts in our rapidly rising insurance costs. Chinese hoax indeed.

Let's close with a tip of the hat to the man, the myth, the legend Leon Musk who bravely was waving about that oversized chainsaw at CPAC. Proving yet again; boys will be boys. I don't know about you guys, but this past month has been one crazy carnival ride...and we know it won't stop any time soon. Enjoy the ride, i know i am.

Hint to Tom on the debt ceiling, look at the 4.5 trillion dollar tax cuts for billionaires...at least that's where i'd start.

Josie, you wrote " I will get on your Wiki Page and edit some content if you still think it's a reliable source." That would be vandalism.
You also wrote " You just can't accept Wiki is not considered legit." I can easily accept that you and many others consider wikipedia to be not "legit." From my about 20 years of editing on wikipedia I've learned that this is because many right leaning folks consider "fact checking" to be a form of anti free speech behavior. I think your man Trump falls into that category. I'd like you to point out some factual error that you have found on wikipedia that supports your view. Otherwise you are just parroting rightist talking points. What has your experience shown you is wrong with wikipedia? No googling, please.

The last time Trump was in charge of the country folks in the government were forbidden to discuss climate change. You got fired if you did. It will be interesting to see what happens this time around, I suspect more of the same, though Musk with his space stuff knows it real and understands that he needs to deal with it. Tough. As far as "enjoying the ride" goes, I thought I'd try that but it turned out to be laughing too keep from crying.

The jobs of Federal Emergency Management Agency employees tied to climate change and related hazards are next on the chopping block after hundreds of probationary workers were fired earlier this week, according to people familiar with the matter and an internal FEMA email seen by Bloomberg News."
This sort of thing, and more. It started in 2016 during Trump I. But if I prove it to you that will not change your perspective so I am not going to try. I'm telling you that this is going on. Feel free to ignore me because I have learned that intentional ignorance is the favorite hiding place of the Right.

Dan Bongino" Here is what wikipedia has on him. Please show me what is mistaken.
"He later ran for Congress three times as a Republican, though unsuccessfully.
In November 2020, The New York Times listed Dan Bongino as one of its top five election "misinformation superspreaders”
Bongino, a former host of NRATV (National Rifle Association Television) among his other pursuits, was a vociferous defender on his podcast of the insurrectionists who stormed the US Capitol.
In March 2021, Cumulus Media signed Bongino to replace The Rush Limbaugh Show on its talk radio stations"
Then there is is his Fox News stuff, a favorite recruiting spot for Trump.

Not sure. Dan was a NYPD cop from 1995 to 1999. Then a Secret Service Agent to 2 Presidents, Bush and Obama. He authored 8 books. Trump is no fan of Fox news. And what did you accomplish by age 50? New York Times is pretty Left leaning. The TDS runs deep in liberals.

Next: To everyone about to get fired in DC under Trump "Learn to code" isn't that what you told the pipeline workers Joe fired on day one?

Next: Forgiving people in silence and never speaking to them again is a form of self-care.

Really Bill? You're blaming Trump for the price of eggs?

    You're smarter than that.

Actually Tom i'm blaming trump for being foolish enough to tell people he could fix it on day one; i said quite bluntly, i knew better.

But alas, you ignored my question regarding the need/necessity to increase the debt ceiling limit? We know Leon is taking a blowtorch to the federal gov agencies and programs saving us millions and billions, so what's the need for more debt to the tune of 4 trillion dollars? And we know trump promised us his tariffs would generate enough money so seniors wouldn't be taxed on social security, tipped employees wouldn't have to claim them as taxable income and overtime would be free and clear for all those working more than 40 hours; how soon can we expect that? Or, will be the billionaire 4.5 trillion dollar tax cuts take precedent?

The math just isn't working out for me, so i appreciate any help you can give me getting my head around all these promises and when we can expect to see them happen.

    Thanks, Bill.
