Yes, let’s plan an activity that can build a sense of community for the future of Sun City. When planning is done effectively one does not end up with $600k surprises.
The current deficit is an issue needing to be addressed now. Planning for 2026 events is for the future of Sun City. To discount one because of the other is not a valid solution to either of these issues, in my opinion.
I feel that every time we get a chance to showcase this community and offer the members a true reason for being happy they purchased here, we use this opportunity to crow about how great we can be. There have been so many venues lost, I look forward to opportunities to witness this community regain its glory and make the members proud of where they live. Planning events is a definite need for this community to continue to be the best it can be.

No offense intended here, but SC isn't exactly fluid in available funds right now. Planning events when you have available funds is one thing. Will there be a fundraiser for events to be paid for in the near future or will there be an increase in our assessments to cover costs? Doubtful on option two due to the fact that assessments are for the specific use of rec center upkeep.

There are already two events scheduled in 2025 we can easily build a greater sense of community engagement for; RCSC’s Ring the Bell 4th of July and the Sun Cities Area Historical Society/Del Webb Sun Cities Museum November Time Capsule reveal.
A Sun City 2026/America250 Celebration is a great opportunity for residents to come together. There’s already much interest and enthusiasm from leading organizations.

I am confident a solid group of leaders and residents will create as much of a community celebration as we choose to make it! We are the ORIGINAL Sun City, uniquely inspired to participate in this national celebration!

To tag along with the previous post by eyesopen, there are many ways to generate community engagement with other corresponding events that can be scheduled to create a revenue generating activity. As I mentioned before,,dinner and a show at Sunbowl, or a local tasting from several local eateries with a show. These types of events are always well received and could generate revenue for future events coming up. There are a number of community organizations that will help if asked and would love to add their name as the sponsor of a great event. If it’s well planned and offers value to those who want to participate, they will come.
The biggest challenge for all of this is getting the word out. If we don’t let people know in a timely and visible way, nothing gets done in a timely fashion and even the best planned event will not draw the audience desired.
Communication is key and there needs to be a much better understanding of how to get the word out and create a buzz around information as it’s presented. Lots of color, informative content, graphics that make one take notice and want to add to the calendar. Lots of outreach and repeat the message multiple times so there not a chance the information was missed.

Resorting to month old posts to disparage me. Don't care, you are not truthful and that makes me question everything you say or have said.
