BenefitsCheckUp Arizona is free, private, and can help you learn if you are eligible for benefits that you might not otherwise be aware of, such as: Prescription Drug Assistance Health Care Programs Cash Assistance Housing Assistance Property Tax Programs Home Energy Assistance In-Home Supportive Services Legal Services Nutrition Programs and Food Stamps Employment Programs Go to www.benefitscheckup.org/link/AZ to conduct the screening on your own, or if you'd like help with a free screening, call 1-800-432-4040. It only takes about thirty minutes and you only give your zip code so you'll be told the closest office where you can apply for the programs, but you don't give your name, address, or SS number for the screening. This can be a real help for adults 55 or older, or disabled, with limited or moderate incomes. I've referred people to this and they were very pleased with what they learned and were surprised at what was available. The program is through the Department of Economic Security.
Great info....would be of much help for a lot of seniors. I copied down your info and will check into some of their services...Thanks for sharing this, Suncityjack
You're welcome. I first heard of it at SCAN (formerly SCTA) at 101 W. Coggins Drive in SC. Their phone number is 623 933-7530, but I know Banner Olive Branch also is a local place that helps people with the process. I think these services are great even if we personally may not need them, it helps to know about them so we can refer others like caregivers, etc.
