    The original golf courses were built in the 60's and 70's. These will never be modern million dollar PGA styled courses. I think most folks living in here know this.
    All golf courses are very expensive to maintain as we can see here in the report.
    I do think we have to keep the courses viable, if we want to attract new home owners to buy in Sun City.
    If we want to really keep the courses viable, we should be charging more for guest usage.
    You can't live in any country club in the country without shelling out $30,000 or more entry fees.
    Golf courses are our most expensive amenity here.

    I agree that golf courses are expensive. The people who are using them should bear most of the cost for maintaining and updating them.

    However the $30,000+ entry fees may be true in metro cities, but I have belonged to a very nice country club with a fine golf course in a medium sized midwestern city for fifty years and we didn't ever have to pay an entry fee.

    Yes, we are fortunate. Of course, the club always struggles to make ends meet. Thankfully there are many generous donors who help keep it afloat and affordable. Otherwise, it would fold.
