Guess that's one way to control members....keep them confused. This will reach about 20 members who post here regularly. What about the other 32k.
Tom, This is the email that I received from Mike Dirmyer this morning after I told him about the Oops. I also created another thread regarding the email blast. Jean, Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will get an e-mail out this week to announce the board meeting. I will also have that link updated on the weekly e-mail. Mike Dirmyer | Non-Golf Senior Leader Jean Totten
Jean, where the heck did the title "Non-Golf Senior Leader" come from? Maybe all our Leaders should simply be titled, "John Doe, Senior Leader of Whatever"? And we're told about all the people in new positions but nobody seems to know what their names are? Ain't it great?
How the RCSC was organized then and exploded to now!! No one in management is listed on the RCSC directory anymore! Look at committee summaries to find names and title listed in the attendance section. Want to email them? Yep it's great! It just proves my point in my post "Nothing Really Changes". Yesterday was a 'wait and see' day. I was just stuck so got on Advocates and watched an exchange meeting from 2/3 years ago. People can quote all the affirmations from whatever group, website, any source they want, but nothing will change until the residents are made aware of what is happening. The meeting I watched (kind of) had about 30 people in attendance and it was winter. That alone should speak volumes.
Jean, Thanks for reaching out to Mr. Dirmyer about this most recent error in an RCSC communication. Hopefully he’ll follow through with the new e-blast correction. I’ve been impressed by Mr. Dirmyer’s availability, prompt replies and actions taken on several issues I’ve presented to him. I think he is fully aware of the importance of improving RCSC communications. There are many obstacles!!
I have nothing against Mr. Dirmyer. I'm sure he didn't give himself that title. Problem is, a fish rots from the head! I've heard a lot about better things to come from the GM, but so far all I see is confusion!
My sense is the communication bottleneck is at the board level. The GM serves at the pleasure of the board and the board may be sending conflicting messages (the libraries), no message at all or are setting the GM up to take the fall. These are thoughts that have been expressed to me and I will openly admit I have no inside knowledge, but my Spidey senses are tingling. Hopefully, this will all settle down with the new board and new board officers.
