Breaker News or not?

Have you all heard about Sun Cities radio station? There was an article by Scott Tynes of the Daily Independent subscriber edition unveiling the news. Mike Ege, Karla West and Rich Hoffer are collaborating on this venture, and I, for one, love the station. Here's the link. You check it out and read all about it.

You do know that you neeed an FCC license for the station and the on air people need to be licensed also. Good luck with that.

You do know that you can easily increase the size of type on your screen either by holding down your control button on your keyboard and at the same time scroll up on your mouse pad or select Start > Settings > Accessibility > Text size. To make only the text on your screen larger, adjust the slider next to Text size.

The one downside to this is that there will be a tendency over time for the "owners" of the station to use it to express their personal opinion on issues and folks at the centers may not want to be bothered with someone else's opinion. (If it is broadcast at the centers)

 

Similar to FB chat rooms where the admin (owner) of the room has the power to remove anyone who may disagree with him/her especially politically. Or ND where leads/review teams/moderators are buddies. Similar to autocratic leadership. Could this be SC? (Yes Chris, I did a little research)

Why would RCSC invest/compete
in radio?

Is there a plan to purchase and host/control SCAZradio on RCSC website?

“SUN CITY RADIO: What do we want to do? Doing it online is simple. Starting from scratch. Then the staff can run it. Music and all approved announcements in Sun city properties would then come from our station onto all our properties. We discussed if it would be online and live broadcast.
We could develop an RCSC app to run this. This would require more IT employees who are expensive. General Manager D’Luzansky wanted RCSC to own this and not depend on volunteers.”

So what they are actually saying is they, the RCSC, wants complete control over its content!

Who's to say they won't feed us a bunch of their own crap? Seems like they only tell us what they want us to know, just like the crickets we hear when anybody asks about the property on Thunderbird. Secret negotiations?

I've already heard one Director comment, "When we get the property..."

Rather than than hiring more expensive employees you would think they could possibly work out a special arrangement with Mike regarding the content.

Besides, I'm sure we hear and read many more comments and rumors off of social media sites than we would from SCAZRadio.com. and I like the FREE part!

 

I hope SCAZRADIO remains INDEPENDENT!
Why would current owner/operators, West and Ege sell or surrender to RCSC??

 

They shouldn't sell or surrender to the RCSC, but with Mike and Rich being former Directors, I believe they will have the best interest of Sun City at heart.

 

But, John, if they own it, they have that right, don't they?

Tom, you can thank Ronald Reagan for that. You intchin’ to do commentary on the radio. Maybe you and I could revive the old Point/Counterpoint, seems like a lot laughs to me.

Rich, I have to volume turned up on my iPad but nothing from the station. What am I doing wrong?
Could you play Immigrant Song by Led Zepplin and dedicate it to Kari Lake for me? Probably not, Tom would counter with Old Man by Neil Young, Harvest album if I am not mistaken.

Any chance for some blues or soul from the same time frame? BB King, Buddy Guy, Marvin Gaye, Howlin Wolf, Bonnie Raitt, Muddy Waters, etc. If it wasn’t for them there would not rock n roll.

 

Dave, try hitting the little red triangle next to the words "Listen Live" and when the page flips showing the album cover, hit that red triangle as well.
