ProPublica running down a story of Gift Card numbers and PINs being taken off those cards hanging in stores and re-stocked on shelf so that when card is bought and activated, the balance can be stolen. I read this after purchasing a card for my great, great nephew who is turning 5! (Wow) Here is a link from the FTC on avoiding, how to detect and what to do if you have a scam card. Might be a good idea to share wherever you can. Seems like most are from online purchases, but while you are purchasing in store, if you see a bad or suspicious card give to cashier.
