Not to sound mean or disparaging say what, but you truly are a moron. I've spent 20 years trying to insure Sun City remain a spectacular place to live. You may not like what i write, but i'll put my efforts up against yours (or anyone else of your choosing) to compare whose given back what to maintain this spectacular way of life we enjoy. Yes, we took a wrog turn along the way, but we're on the road back. When you're ready to compare resumes, give me a holler.

As far as buying Union Hills or Palm Brook, you do understand what is going to happen in 2025, right? If not, you should try to get your head around the cost of converting to desert landscaping. Just saying eh?

I've made a point to attend both the SAC and Budget and Finance committee meetings this summer. I've also made a point to listen intently. It's been enlightening and informative on both counts as they try and rebuild/restructure how the RCSC functions. I'm fascinated by their efforts.

I've also made a point to hang around at the end of the meetings and share my thoughts with those who want to chat. Sometimes it is board members, sometimes committee members and from time to time, management and staff. Ultimately, my opinions are just that, opinions. Whether they pay attention or just tune me out is up to them. If i had one critique of the new board it would be they don't think/work from a cohesive and collective strategy.

There are several independent and strong minded board members and each has skill sets that if they are able to learn to work better together will make them a force to be reckoned with. This coming month of September should speak volumes to all of us.

Interesting! I suppose this is an opportunity and soft opening to begin the process of informing the Members on the RCSC's financial situation?

Motions and voting can take place at a Special Session just the same as during any regular scheduled meeting. It'll be interesting to see how this goes since they don't seem to be ready to approve the budget yet.

Is it a SPECIAL MEETING or SESSION?
    CONFUSING…

No reason to let it do that Tom. If we have learned nothing else from living in Sun City...life goes by too quickly as it is. This is truly great news. Our history has taught us every problem that has ever existed is fixable or at the very least, minimizing the fear those of us have living here. The challenges of a community run organization (self-governance) is that reaching out to the members is critical to understanding the problems and then finding the solutions.

Sadly over the past 15 years we drifted from that and trusted a handful of people (board members and gm) to have every answer. Nobody, NOBODY, is that good. Which is exactly why DEVCO and the pioneers created documents with shared responsibility. When the members take ownership, amazing outcomes become the norm, not the exception.

"A special meeting (or called meeting) is a separate session of a society held at a time different from that of any regular meeting, and convened only to consider one or more items of business specified in the call of the meeting. Notice of the time, place, and purpose of the meeting, clearly specifically describing the subject matter of the motions or items of business to be brought up, must be sent to all members a reasonable number of days in advance..." Then it is a Special Meeting that was not called correctly, per RCSC bylaws.

I have read on various forums over the years and I have been here longer than you. You're a wonderful historical mind but you love to argue with everyone who may disagree or present an idea that you have to be in full control with. Maybe I should change my name to Moron. It's a huge mistake to spend any money on Mountainview other than making it a sports facility. Union Hills could of been a state of the art theater and a great place for administrative offices. Yes it has a golf course but this property could have been bought for pennies on the dollar. Again Sun City made a mistake. I am much older than you Bill but the previous boards over the years got real tired of your constant attacks. This moron will will be here it looks like for a while longer. Keep name calling those people who disagree with you. It's been your MO for years. Why would it change now?

It is simply a special meeting called in between the time of a regularly scheduled meeting and where the business was completed during that meeting. The completed business during that meeting makes that a session. If the meeting's business wasn't completed and adjourned to another meeting prior to the next regularly scheduled meeting, that too would be a special meeting.

The term "session" relates to a single meeting or multiple meetings where the complete order of business was gone thru and all agenda items were fulfilled. Think of a 3 day convention. The session is complete only after the 3rd day because the agenda covers several meetings and events over those 3 days.

The Special Membership Meeting that you keep posting has nothing to do with the RCSC announcement. The announcement clearly states that this will be a special meeting of the Board.

So let me be very clear say what. I didn't call you a moron because you think it was a good idea to buy another golf course, lots of Sun City residents have held that opinion. It's certainly a debatable point and worthy a discussion. Nope my callous comment was based on this statement: "You seem to just love SCW Bill. Maybe you should move there as you are always comparing SCW and trashing SC." I don't love Sun City West and i never have. I do pay attention to what other age restricted communities do better than us and use it as a teachable moment.

As far as you having lived here longer, so what? If your resume of accomplishments is you bought in Sun City before me, you beat me there. Now, what's the rest of the story?

Finally, as far as other previous board members concerns over my "constant attacks," come to the Budget and Finance meeting this Thursday and listen to where we are. Perhaps then you will understand why i was unhappy with the oversight they had regarding the GM. Sorry, but what we are now finding out will substantiate what i have been complaining about for years. Trusting the GM to do the right thing is way different than insuring the right things were done. To their credit, i guess the answer is, they simply didn't know.

The suspense is almost killing me. I mean for gosh sakes let’s hear the news! We are adults and we can handle it. And my comments pertain to the board meetings, SAC meetings, and F $ B meetings.
