Just lit up Facebook with my comments regarding the RCSC allowing fivesomes on all courses beginning September 1st. A classic example of not addressing the problem but compounding it. Amazing.
Just another example of the board needing to address a situation and correcting it instead of kicking the can down the road. Nobody mentions how many members have gone elsewhere to play because of the lack of available tee times in Sun City.
It is essential that the board and the golf advisory committee comes together to find solutions. The current structure is simply not sustainable. Just chatted with a golfer who is adamant the courses and their play ability are worsening by the day. And you are dead spot on Larry, kicking the can down the road is no longer an option..as members will find out soon enough.
Larry, 5somes have been allowed forever except for executive courses. Executive courses allow 5sones during overseed. Much ado about nothing. I will say it doesn't slow things down as long as everyone is in a cart. What slows things down is when they have the split sheets and Larry you know what those are, right? Who wants to tee off on hole number one or ten and have to wait for 30 to 45 minutes to cross over to finish their round. This is what backs up courses. I had never saw this until I came here 27 years ago. Someone had a bright idea so the golfers could socialize and get hammered every day. True story,!!!
