Wondering what the new location is like. I think it's good for it to be more centrally located. Was told they were going to have a multi-use room for hanging out and playing games so they don't have to move people out when lunch is served and then move them back again, so that would be nice.
I haven't been in it but when i drove by it and was impressed by the new look and the lot was filled with cars. Way too many of our (Sun City's) resources are treated as a throw away; until someone needs them. Communities thrive as such when there is a concerted effort to build relationships across the wide spectrum of needs. Sadly with the goals of just becoming "the fun city," we lost sight of community and just wanted home buyers to be unconcerned about big picture Sun City. It was an enormous price to pay and will take massive efforts to repair.
Where is it located now? United Church of Sun City is very close to us, and I was surprised the first time I drove by and everything was down. We used to donate canned goods there. I will miss them being right there in our neighborhood. I imagine it is north of Grand Avenue now?
I had asked the Banner Olive Branch folks that were staffing the table at one of our senior fairs whether they were considering increasing the hours since often the evening hours are especially rough on single seniors who were used to spending that time with now deceased spouses, but was told nope. Too bad that neither BOL nor the libraries seem to want to fill that gap....
