Thank you - that's exactly my point. Just like some people thought some nefarious actions forced Dir McAdam out two years ago. Didn't you want an explanation for that?? Just like some people think there were any number of nefarious deeds going on the past 2 years and wanted explanations. I'm not talking about conspiracy theorists who never believe reasonable things nor the other extreme of people who never question anything they are told; I'm talking about the vast majority of people in the middle who will look for and trust reasonable explanations and facts. I don't need to know the personal details - but "personal reasons" doesn't seem sufficient. Perhaps "A personal situation has just arisen which will not allow me to meet time commitment as President, but will still allow me the necessary time to continue as a non-officer Director". In that hypothetical answer, "time" answers the Why and "just arisen" answers the Why-now and the entire answer will stop most people from speculating.

Couldn't agree more Jeb. Every action, or non-action, in many cases will trigger either a judgement call by the members. I'd rather they hadn't played musical chairs with the officers but all of us out in the peanut gallery want to believe there were sound reasons for it. I would hope/expect at the next exchange meeting they begin with a brief explanation of why. They don't need to belabor whatever caused them to step down, but don't pretend it was no big deal and ignore it.

Another explanation that most would understand if given the reason for vacating their positions, work - life balance. Board officer positions require a lot of work.
    “What is quiet quitting?
Quiet quitting is the latest workplace buzzword. Although it sounds like it refers to someone resigning from their position, it describes a rebellion against the hustle culture of going above and beyond what a job requires.

Quiet quitting doesn't mean an employee has left their job, but rather has limited their tasks to those strictly within their job description to avoid working longer hours. They want to do the bare minimum to get the job done and set clear boundaries to improve work-life balance. These employees are still fulfilling their job duties but not subscribing to 'work is life' culture…”

"Quiet quitting"..........sorry not buying it! It's also interesting that the other two elected officers failed to ascend to the vacated officer positions. Is this all a ruse or do we have directors that actually have no idea what they are doing. It's time to act on the TORCH or similar program.

I have no interest in speculating, as i said above i will patiently wait for the proper venue to see if they address the elephant in the room. To your final point Gary, i couldn't agree more. the Torch program in Sun City West is a spectacular model to follow. While serving on the board we talked about it but there was never any sense of need or urgency as most just saw it as more work. Of course the other part of the equation was with the goal becoming the "Fun City," who wanted more work? And if the end goal was to allow the GM and a couple of board members to make every decision, having an educated membership was counterintuitive.

They have gotten a lot of blowback from "members", "members" "members" the "golfers" who live here. There's a handful of newbie crybabies again who have pissed off the "members" who have lived here and played golf everyday for years. Personally Nonmembers should pay more always but the ones being penalized are members because there's going to be a substantial increase in golf. The noncrybabies have figured out how to work with everyone. It's been absolutely fine until the crybabies put their noses where it doesn't belong. Probably most of them are nongolfers

I get really tired of your whining about stuff you claim to be an expert on Say What. Seeing as you know it all, then clearly you should know this: Those full play non-member passes resulted in 15,000 plus rounds of golf in 2022. It also produced $319,000 worth of revenue. That works out to roughly $21 per round. But wait, it get worse, way freaking worse. Here's how and why: two-thirds of them buy the pass with golf car ($2750 versus $2250 no car). So just for shits and giggles lets use 10,000 of those rounds include non-residents getting a car. The $21 per round fee includes golf car revenue (the $500 add on). Those 10,000 rounds, if the golf car was sold at face value ($12.00) would be worth a whopping $120K. All of which brings their real cost down to $13.26 per round. ($319,000 minus $120,000).

You can call it fuzzy math or whatever turns your crank, but the net is these non-resident, non-members are literally stealing rounds of golf that belong to Sun City residents. I know the argument, your good old buddies that have been playing forever think it is their god-given right to play and pay $5-$10 a round and more importantly get the exact tee times they want every time they step on a course. The problem is the only way they can fill out their group of 30 is to bring in their buddies from outside the community. Those are all non-members.

And as long as we are having this chat, here's what you said above: "Personally Nonmembers should pay more always." If you truly believe that, your comments are either foolish or you are simply delusional.

I love this guys username - because that's exactly what I say after reading his posts! LMFAO

Thru our new owner PIF fee and annual assessments, all members subsidize the expenses to keep the golf courses operational (just like the pools, shuffleboard courts, and new ping-pong balls)- therefore all of our noses belong here. If you believe non-members shouldn't be getting cheaper rates nor preferential treatment - then just say you agree! I hope this is something the new Board addresses sooner rather than later. Again - the corporation isn't going to implode based on whatever they decide - but talk about it openly - and stop the fear mongering (MEMBER RATES ARE GOING TO GO UP!!) and spinning (RAISING NON-MEMBER RATES WILL MAKE US LOSE $300,000) b.s.
