I'm not sure where to begin. Up until two days ago, I looked forward to reading the posts on TOSC. This was a great place to talk about our love of, discuss our grievances of, and get a history lesson of Sun City from someone who's been here and lived through this quagmire for 15 years.

Two days ago you appeared and started posting, and you've quickly amassed a new record of churlish, unbecoming, anonymous behavior, and most of this seems to be centered on Bill. IMHO, It is most unsuitable, inappropriate, unflattering and not welcome here.

There is a wise saying out there by a wise woman: If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.

All I've heard from you is criticism even attacking Campbell soups. How about you tell us what YOU'VE done for the community.

Lighten up gang, boys will be boys. The initial shots he's taken at me are meaningless. What i am really, really looking for is a great discussion on the logic behind stifling the voice of membership and turning the authority over to the paid help (oops, my bad).

Because 3GenSCAZ seems to be so defensive, I suspect he/she once had their position on the board and no doubt disagreed with everything you and Carol tried to accomplish?

People above. New Sheriff and new rules! Stay with me for a few days and see what’s in store fore the next TOSC wild ride! BTW, I’m a nice person in real life but have had enough of the one sided Hate the RCSC conversation. We have many problems in the community and the RCSC might be the least of them.

I haven’t spent a significant part of my retirement days posting hateful things about the people and organizations that make Sun City great. I don’t know where you have been reading here but calling our neighbors Retreads and worse are just not appropriate….all by Bill and his fans. BTW, Maya Angelou is an inspiration. Campbell Soup not so much!

Actually, 3GenSCAZ, not everyone knows who you are. All I've seen so far is your trolling, name calling, and promises of things to come. If you have something to contribute, please do so. If you have data or facts to dispute something, please share. Thanks.

Better yet jeb, let's make this really easy for him. 3g has indicated there's an abundance of pressing issues to be faced in the community. We've highlighted most of them along the way and frankly they have nothing to do with hating anybody or anything, but more about where Sun City is going in the coming years. That's always been the point, it still is. I've written it more times than i can count; i have an opinion, it doesn't make it right but what really matters most is what does the community want? Why would anyone be afraid to find out?

The RCSC has lost sight of that; i would argue on purpose. Changing our documents was intentional. Stripping the rights contained in them was intentional. With a new general manager, there may be a chance to go back to that sense of community, accountability and responsibility that Sun City was built on. Maybe, just maybe, that don't care. My solution has always been to just ask them. Why would anyone be afraid of that?

Here's a short list of the most pressing issues of the day, let's see if we agree 3g.
1). Technology is woefully behind and needs to addressed and quickly.
2). Golf courses were purchased to be revenue neutral. Can we afford to just keep shoveling unlimited dollars at them so people can golf for next to nothing?
3). Should Sun City move forward as "The City of Volunteers" or "The Original Fun City?" (not really pressing but as long as we are asking the members, why not?).
4). Should our documents via the ad hoc committee restore some or all of those rights the members used to enjoy?

Simple questions, not all that pressing in the grand scale of things. Again, just one man's opinion, but far better to let the community have a voice than just letting the gm and 9 board members decide everything for us. And to be clear, whatever the majority decide is fine by me. Once we do that, then perhaps i can shut up and sit down.

With the recent shenanigans, it doesn't appear to take 9 people and a GM to decide issues and make changes -- it appears things can get done with only one person.

3GenSCAZ may need to get in touch with the reality that not everyone sees the world through his eyes, that not everyone has drunk the RCSC koolaid.

The RCSC is but one of 3300 businesses in the SC community and most people posting on this forum like SC. But, just like 3GenSCAZ's Campbell's Soup, the RCSC not so much. Like any community, we pay taxes and expect community services in return. When we don't like something we bitch to the taxing authorities. Taxes assessed by Maricopa County provide our road maintenance, police, recreation areas outside SC boundaries, etc.; we complain to the County Supervisors when we don't like something. The RCSC makes tax-like assessments on each residential property in SC for the purposes of providing recreation facilities to some of the SC property holders. The majority of the discussions on this forum deal with how the RCSC operates, what they spend the assessed money on, who can/cannot use the facilities, and what recreation amenities are provided. It's human nature to applaud the things we like and boo the things we don't. Those in charge of the RCSC have chosen how they conduct themselves; they alone must shoulder the burden of any public criticism it evokes.

I couldn't disagree more about the majority of residents disliking the RCSC. Unfortunately they need to charge a fee and there will always be folks, especially the end of life Senior set that want something or everything for nothing. Recently all the focus has been on those terrible Board members so it's time to bash them, bash them all. The critics need to get a life and away from the hysteria that has become our formerly close knit community. Koolaid, never drink the stuff but I know one frequent poster here has been brewing up a whole lot of it with a side shot of venom. We have a lot of issue here in Sun City and if you get truly involved you'll see it everywhere and the most pressing issues have nothing to do with the RCSC. Criticism is good but when it becomes almost 24,000 posts it becomes boring and ineffective. It's a new day. Take advantage of it.

The majority of the residents don't know much about how Sun City functions and why it works. Those that get their cheap golf rates love it. No question. Those that use the amenities often are happy with the conditions and shape of things. Those who have been shuttled off to the sidelines are angry.

The simple question you just can't bring yourself to answer is: why not ask them how they feel. The survey that the long range committee put together was pretty thorough, whey was the board afraid to send it? If you are so confident about how people feel, why not ask them? Or better yet, help those moving here better understand how the community works and why it has been so successful.

I just left the SCHOA Sheriff's meeting and the one over riding message was to learn to watch out for one another. We know when the changes started happening and why, now the question is, can we find a way to rebuild it.

BTW, i noticed you addressed none of the items mentioned above. I guess you still can't bring yourself to have legitimate discussions regarding the issues facing the RCSC. I would have hoped once you left the board you would have had the capacity to be open and honest. Apparently after 7 years of just doing what you please because you could, you still can't get past that style of non-communication. Odd, given that was your chosen field and alleged expertise.

Geez, give me some time. Just like you I have an opinion on everything but it will take me a few days to post a few more ideas in between games of Solitaire on my iPad. BTW, I never left the Board, I wouldn't even consider running for that popularity contest!

Actually, 3GenSCAZ, I didn't say the majority of residents dislike the RCSC -- what I said was "most people posting on this forum like SC. But, ... the RCSC not so much." I was trying to point out that disliking SC and disliking the RCSC are two mostly independent issues.

Got it. With so few posters that would be somewhat less than .010% of the population. We really need more involvement here.

I know you are smarter than you pretend to be 3g, but the goal has always been to grow the numbers. That was the point to my 24,000 posts, to writing the 3 magazines for the RCSC, for the Sun City Advocates, for the Facebook and Next Door posts. We aren't looking for people living in Sun City who just think like us, we are looking for anyone who owns a home to understand this is their community. They need to be involved and to pay attention. It's how Sun City was built and why it was so successful.
