Play golf with a couple of my friends over at northcourse and we were informed by the starter there that there was an incident on this course where a homeowner pulled a gun on a worker who was doing some type of work on the course and nothing was done about it and this has been hush hush don't let anybody know what the real story is as far as crime goes in Sun City. People in our community deserve to know what the hell is going on when it comes to crime and not sugarcoat it or sweep it under the rug it's a real issue and it needs to be addressed professionally! Anyone that threatens another should be reported to law enforcement regardless who they are of course if you ask around nobody knows the damn thing cuz they were told not to say a damn thing

Wow. Very interesting SW. This story coincides with the one we heard briefly at the last board meeting where a RCSC monitor was assaulted by a guy on a bicycle. Initially management didn't want anyone to know about it, but one of the board members felt that was wrong approach and distributed a photo of the guy on his bike from a camera. Let me repeat what i just wrote in another thread. Nothing, NOTHING, should be a secret in Sun City. It is our community, it is our home. For some reason the RCSC doesn't quite get that. Hopefully the Sun City Advocate's will help them get their head around it.

SW can you provide evidence of this infraction?

    Can you elaborate further?

Just making a statement like the above is really heresay without proof to back it up>

Did the RCSC do anything? Did they ta;lk to the grounds keeper? Did they talk to the homeowner involved?

If this really occurred what action was taken against the homeowner if any?

This sort of occurrence should be mentioned at board meetings.

Similarly, there were squatters in my neighborhood and when I called SCHOA to find out an update on what I'd reported, was asked "which ones?" Apparently there are a number of squatters in SC yet I've never read anything about this problem or what to do about it or what's being done about it and I read Nextdoor, The Independent, etc. We need to know these things!

So, so far all we know from eyesopen post is that there was an incident at Lakeview.
There was no mention that the perp was a homeowner.

As for the nextdoor post. If I have to create an account to read the post it is not worth reading.

The post I provided here is the verbatim community alert issued by the
    Maricopa County Sheriff's Office
    Local Agency
Sergeant Calbert Gillett • 6 hr ago

There were two excellent photos of the person on a bicycle they are asking for help identifying. The photos included in the alert are from the recreation center security video.

The Nextdoor link is for anyone who wants to help the MCSO identify and apprehend the person.

(ND eyewitness comment, “We saw it happen at Lakeview while we were having a picnic in one of the shelters. The man was riding his bike on the path which is clearly forbidden and the employee told him so. He then kicked the employee knocking them to the ground and rode off.”)

We’ll that’s a whole lot different than “a homeowner pulled a gun on a worker”.

shows how things get out of hand and exaggerated.

    Two independent incidents:

SayWhat, “homeowner pulled a gun on a worker who was doing some type of work on the course.”

Eyesopen, “Lakeview Sun City Recreational Center inSun City.”

Apparently there were two separate incidents; one at the Lakeview Rec Center, the other at one of the golf courses. Not sure what took place at the golf course, the rumors are flying around the community. No idea if the RCSC management addressed the incident or if the board even dealt it. These kinds of matters perfectly depict what is wrong with Sun City these days. They think we have no right to know anything that goes on in the community. Apparently they think it's their community, not ours. How the hell did we get some far removed from the tenets we were built under and around?
