I thought the numbers that Dale provided were outstanding. Now I know the pickleball and lawn bowling numbers are much much higher especially lawn bowling. I thought the long range planning presentation was excellent and a good start for the future.

The matter of the lectern came up more than a few times at the Dec 16 meeting and the board made no attempt to explain why the lectern was removed or if they will be putting it back.

I think I heard or read somewhere that the parliamentarian suggested to the board that they remove the lectern. I thought the parliamentarian was there to make sure the Roberts Rules were followed correctly - not suggest removal of the lectern.

I believe that the parliamentarian suggested this as she is a lawyer and she wants to make it difficult for an elderly generation to get up and comment on issues in Sun City.
Making the elderly stand in line for their turn to speak is another tactic to dissuade people from speaking their mind.
I do agree that speakers should be queued before the comment periods so that valuable time is not wasted waiting for them to take their place in front of the lectern.
However, they could at least provide a queuing and seating arrangement that would allow speakers to be comfortable before their turn to speak.

To me it seems that the parliamentarian and the BOD wants to make it extremely uncomfortable for MEMBERS to speak. What they have done is very demeaning to the MEMBERS.

This should be changed immediately at the first board meeting with the new board members.
