Perhaps the only way to get a quorum to show up at the annual membership meeting is start a rumor that the RCSC is going to pass a bylaw that says no dogs are allowed in Sun City!

Probably the easiest and fastest way to get a quorum is to start a rumor that annual assessments are going to be raised to 4000.00.
Issues that affect the pocketbook always gets the biggest crowds.

Just opened my weekly Sun City email and no mention of the upcoming September 13rd Board Meeting…again!!

According to their own bylaws the agenda has to be posted no less than 7 days before the meeting.

That means we might see it either later today or tomorrow...but of course the RCSC seems to be running under their own set of rules!

Was the RCSC website hacked a short while ago? Interesting information pops up when you try to access information.

Nope....wouldn't have the foggiest idea how to do it. Don't recommend going there to check until an all clear is issued somehow. Anyone else go there with problems?

I was just checking on the website to see if the agenda was possibly posted and the RCSC website was gone. Had gotten the weekly email blast and it did show the meeting on the 13th and that they would be posting the agenda probably tomorrow which would be the 7 day advance.

It's there towards the bottom 3c, there is no mention of the annual membership meeting that was on the boards of directors calendars for Oct 18th of this year however.

Congrats by the way. 13,000 reads, the momentum is growing not going away as they had hoped.

I know a handful of really smart people, i have no pretense i am one of them. I've always been more a break it down, practical application kind of guy. Stuff has a tendency to happen for reasons, sometimes intentionally sometimes inadvertently. More often than not most of us can look at situations and grasp what something means when it happens.

With that consideration as the backdrop, let me put this out there: We know the board pushed through without a third reading the Mountainview project. We know they added Plan 2 in June when more people were gone. We know the board emailed Karen as she was leaving for a lengthy trip overseas and when she didn't show up, they fired her. We know they then sent Karen an email telling her of the firing and then stating too bad she elected not to show up. We also know they have implied it was due to a "conflict of interest," or maybe because they felt she was "unwilling or incapable" of performing her duties. We know the president sent a letter to the editor in the Independent and in Sun Views where she went to great lengths to tell us virtually nothing. We also know Karen wrote a lengthy response that was really, really good.

The sum total of the above paragraph is damning towards the board. If you watched either of the June meetings you saw an arrogance and a cavalier attitude from those on the stage that was unsettling and unbecoming by the board members we elected to represent us. The answer for it is steeped in the fact they swear allegiance to the corporation, the membership be damned. The simple truth is, as Karen pointed out before she ever ran, the sole purpose for the RCSC's existence is to serve the membership.

Here's my point for the recap: If i do something or some things to anger my spouse, i try very had to diffuse that anger. I do not pour fuel on the flame. It would be illogical unless my goal is piss her off even more. That's exactly why this September 13 board meeting matters. That's exactly why i want to see the agenda. Is it an effort to tamp down the anger in the community, or is more in your face bullshit that screams...screw you!

    We will see very shortly.

I have the page book marked aggie and when i click on it, i get an advertisement for buying pills on line. If you use a back door link posted on the site above you can get in. Very strange.

Perhaps the RCSC has the website temporarily out of service while they upload new content...like the agenda?

I guess everybody is waiting to see a notice about the installation of a new director? I expect we will see that but I'm more curious to see if they set a time to adjourn the meeting as not to give the members a lot of time to make member comments! We may see something like, "10:15 Adjourn the meeting for an Executive Session"?

Yeah, what's up with the RCSC website? At least now I know where to buy my Viagra! Lol!

Too funny FYI. I would have thought it better to provide a link for marijuana or Valium to get folks mellowed out. My bad, i actually went back and clicked on the links we posted and what you get to is a cached page. If you click further you get redirected to buy those little blue pills. Hopefully this won't delay the posting of the agenda. Hmmmmmmmm, looks suspicious eh?

I had asked above and i still don't know the answer or the logic to it. If you read the by-laws you see for a membership meeting the board has to post 10 days in advance of the meeting any proposed by law changes. It would seem to me if the board was proposing by law changes at the Sept 13 board meeting they would need to be posted for the same 10 day period. Does that mean there are no by-law changes? Or are that claiming for a board meeting they only need post 7 days ahead of the meeting?

Yes, that’s what’s in this issue of SunViews.

That's an interesting question!!! Perhaps the way they have been manipulating the bylaws they figure they only need to give a 7 day notice for the motion that they intend to amend the bylaws. Once they present the motion at the board meeting and as long as they don't waive the second and third readings the 10 day mandate would be covered by the time the next board meeting happens when they actually vote?

We'll just have to wait to see what happens but everything I've seen or read so far has appeared to me as they are simply doubling-down. I see no signs of regret or terms of reconciliation, only justification for their actions.

*What by-law changes are you thinking that they are going to make that they need to post 10 days ahead of time?

*Am I correct that installing a "retread" (!) or past board member to serve in Karen's seat is something they can do without any input from the Members?

*Am I correct that they can just change the ending time of the agenda without any input from the Members?

The only one I'm thinking of is if they try to pass a Bylaw that would make a director who was terminated from their previous term by the board from running again.

It's their (the Board's) meeting and we have no say in the matter, besides their articles of incorporation allow them to fill vacancies.

Yup! It's their meeting and they can set their own agenda. If they want to specify a time to end the meeting they can do it and when that time arrives the Chair will simply gavel down and declare the meeting adjourned!

Awesome. guess they got that straightened out. There was the rumor they wanted to pass that by law change to keep a "fired" board member from running, but no idea if it will be on the agenda or not. To be clear, as FYI pointed out, it is their board meeting. We get our say at the annual membership meeting. Oh wait, the last one was back in Sept of 2009. Hell, just maybe they don't want to hear what we have to say. Just maybe, the board and the management team are all that really matters. After all, our role is to pay our fees and be happy.

Then again, maybe i am dead bang wrong and they will have an agenda where they reinstate Karen, provide pickleballers with their own venue as they proposed by the maintenance building on the South golf course (eliminating some of the green area they'll have to turn to desert landscaping) and come in just pleased as punch to have such a large turnout. Guess we'll know tomorrow eh?
