Anyone going to tomorrow's board meeting?

Hell, the site is pretty well dead from posters, but we still get a fair share of readers. I suspect i know how much response i will get, but i'll ask anyway: The RCSC board meeting is scheduled for Thursday June 24, tomorrow at 9am, and on the agenda of items is the second reading to accept the motion to move froward on the revised plan 2 of the Mountainview remodel and to be done in phases.

I suspect pickleball players will be out in force again and hopefully the board will have better answers to their questions regarding how long and whether there will even be pickleball courts there? What will be even more telling will be whether they try and squash the third reading (which wouldn't happen until September when more people are around) and maybe just shove it through after two readings?

Torn on whether to go or not. Watching and screaming at my ipad after the fact seems way better.

I'll be going and I agree that they will probably waive the third readings.

Rather than voting on Option 2, I would like to see them first vote on Phase III and what games/venues will be built in that free space! I believe that if they were to solve that issue first, the rest would fall into place!

I agree FYI. The problem of course is phase 1 won't be finished until 2024 or 2025 when the golf course and Viewpoint lake will be stuck right where the sun doesn't shine. By then, every board member will be done and gone and the the pickleball players will be crazed with them all trying to play at Marinette.

There really only is one solution; find somewhere to build "temporary" or permanent courts before they close Mountainview. Someone threw out the number $30,000 per court, no idea if that is reasonable or not but given the popularity of pickleball it just seems to make sense to put courts south of Grand Ave. I suspect 10 courts would be well received by the p-ballers in there is only 7 courts there now. There is available land next to the south maintenance shed, but the noise will be an issue...no matter where they put it.

And no, not a pickleball player so i have no skin in this game other than to see Sun City keep moving forward. Losing the courts south of Grand for 4 or 5 or more years will be a giant step backwards.

How about closing-in and air-conditioning the shaded courts at Marinette before spending any money or demolition on Mountain View? Then they could play any time of the day or year whether its in triple digits in the middle of the Summer or during our winter months? They may have to start scheduling a sign-in time like golf but so what! And if you listen to director Lehrer and her utilization numbers, the pickleball courts aren't running anywhere close to capacity?????

As expected, they waived the 3rd reading on option 2.

They accused Karen McAdams as being out of lines and having a conflict of interest and kinda reamed her a new A-hole. Boy....they really dont like her!

I stopped in for 10 minutes on my way to the Museum and caught the show. Suffice to say it made me ill. Rather than addressing it here I will start a new thread just to piss off a board member who hates how I think about this shit pile they have created.
