What are the rules in Sun City about cutting down trees? Don't worry, I'm not going around cutting all trees down, it's just that if there was a huge one by a house I was buying I would be concerned it could fall upon the house in a storm, especially if it was a weakened tree for some reason. (This happened to 2 of my neighbors here in CT). Thanks
Well...I hope there are not any rules because the husband and I took down a huge Palo Brea tree in our backyard last month. I see people taking them down all the time. You may want to call the office and just check but I do not think their are any permits required for that.
We cut down a huge palm tree both for safety reasons and for aesthetic reasons (it continually dropped debris on our neighbor's yards. We replaced it with a tree we.... and the neighbors, liked better. No permits were required.
I don't think so. I'm looking to buy now and I asked that question to a Realtor who has sold a lot in SC. Some oh these houses have huge trees in them. What were people thinking. Two I am interested in have big trees I can see they are already on the roof. Anyone know what it costs to cut down a large tree?
I have the same issue here. My next door neighbor planted a HUGE pine that has crossed over and is hitting my roof. The law here says once it crossing over the property line it is part mine and I need to pay to cut it down. But I still have to ask him permission. And if I cut too much and kill it he could sue me because trees are worth thousands.
That is a problem (couldn't spell delima, delema...). Both the husband & wife next to me passed away during the last 2 years. Relatives inherited the house. Now it is for sale. There was a huge tree hanging over their back patio. I was concerned roof rats my arrive. Finally the tree was cut back. Our gardener pruned an Oleader that was between my house and theirs. Way, Way back. That was about 3 months ago. It has filled out and now looks lovely.
I was hoping no more than 1,000. But the guy here wants 1,000 just to trim this large pine. It is a huge tree more than the height of a second story and a very thick trunk.
I do love trees. Absolutely love trees and the birds need them. They are a major source of carbon dioxide removal at night and they give oxygen during the day (or maybe it's the reverse) But people don't often research how big they get over time.
What tree do you like for shade...is it messy with pods, dropping leaves? How much water does it take?
