I use a simple roof top antenna and reception is acceptable especially for the major channels. I get 91 channels right now. My antenna was installed 20 years ago before digital transmission and it works just fine. You really don’t need a so called digital antenna. Also, the number of channels you get and their reception is affected by not just your antenna.
The number of y’s off of the antenna cable, and the tuner in your tv will affect both the number of channels and the reception you get. Hope this helps.

Got one of those $15 ones and got all the major networks and surprisingly all the 8s which is great since I esp. like the 8-3 World Channel with all the documentaries. However, it works best on the south wall (aiming at South Mt. I guess). Sixty some odd channels but most are Spanish, religious, or shopping. "Movies!" channel and about ten others are pretty good, old t.v. shows.

My neighbor installed a $15 antenna on my north wall. I get all the channels I want.
And I don't have to pay cox for tv!!!!!
I still have their internet and telephone and am satisfied with the service.

We have an antenna installed in the "attic" area (between the top side of the ceiling & the bottom of the roof). We had a local company do it, but it would have been possible to do ourselves if we did that kind of thing. The antennae itself came from Best Buy. We get all the digital over-the-air channels - an unbelievable number of them actually and reception is awesome. We live in Sun City Phase 3.

Many older homes in Sun City have an antenna in the attic and surprisingly they still work great. If that isn't an option an indoor leaf antenna works really good but of course you see it on the wall as they usually need to be mounted at the highest point on the wall facing south.

Here is a consideration for a rooftop antenna. The birds love to sit on them, and the bird droppings will eat into your roof shingles.

Here's a thread from last year that may give additional insight.... [here]

"Minniesoda," your name made me smile remembering an old campfire song that utilized the names of states in clever ways. Hadn't thought of that in years and can't remember it except for fragments--a questioner asks a question and then the respondent answers it, something like "Where has Orrie gone (Oregon) boys, where has Orrie gone? (repeat 2x) I'll ask you again as a personal friend, oh where has Orrie gone?" Then comes the answer: "She's sipping Mini Soda boys, she's sipping Mini Soda....(repeat 2x) I'll tell you again as a personal friend, she's sipping Mini Soda...." Thanks for the memories, and welcome!

This little guy picks up 99 digital channels from south mountain. Probably 1/2 I deleted due to lack of interest, but the main networks are HD and crystal clear.

We have DirecTV dish and have occasional outages when either a haboob or heavy rains to the south blocks the signal from the transmitting. Our back up tv has rabbit ears and picks up many local stations so we can continue watching network programs without interruption(usually sports events).
