And we all lose. Including, oddly enough, the clowns.

I just looked at the map and between 85351 and 73 there are over 350 cases and we know that number is not a true number let me know that number is not nursing homes or all nursing homes and I will word it that way instead

Here's a couple of questions I haven't heard asked yet.

    1. How many people are getting tested multiple times if they have no symptoms?

    2. How many people are getting tested multiple times if they do have symptoms?

    3. Is anyone tracking how many times a person is tested?

    4. If tracking is in place, do all processing labs share their info with others?

To me these are important questions.

Regarding testing, Mick Mulvaney wrote this yesterday: Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney called the United States' current coronavirus testing capabilities "simply inexcusable" in an op-ed published Monday, marking a rare break from the Trump administration's continued celebration of current testing efforts. No matter how man times trump tells us how great he's done, testing is inadequate to deal with the problems we are facing. Results are too slow, the lines too long and way too many people wanting tests can't get them.

I have seen nor read any answers to your questions SCR. I did read an NBA player complain now in the bubble, he's been tested 20 times. One can only guess how many times the trump/pence ticket has been tested? It's easy for the orange guy to tell us "everyone that wants one can get one" (seems to me that was like four months back), but i suspect that was more directed at his access and his family's. If nothing else in the past 6 months it has become even more crystal clear, the only one that matters in his orbit is him.

A Republican friend suggested that I read trump's "Art of the Deal." I found a copy for $4 with no S&H. and I am reading it thinking, "this is like reading Mein Kamph and then claiming that you had no reason to suspect what was going to happen." A full critique will be available elsewhere later, but my goodness.

Probably most of you have seen this, but here it is for discussion, or whatver. I've looked around, found this quote on a hospital web site so it appears to be NOT fake news.

"The Trump administration has ordered hospitals to bypass the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and send all Covid-19 patient information to a central database in Washington beginning on Wednesday. The move has alarmed health experts who fear the data will be politicized or withheld from the public."

A friend went to a Zoom mtg. for the immun0-compromised and they gave out this chart which I thought was very helpful in understanding risk, so thought I'd post it for y'all: 0-29.jpeg

I was curious whether the chart is based on having no protection or wearing masks, distancing, etc. I checked the TMA website and it's the latter -- the committee that put together the chart stated "no matter the activity – participants were taking as many safety precautions as they can". I assume that would mean masks, distancing, etc., but given that it's hard for me to rationalize in my mind, for example, why sending kids to school is half the risk of going to a movie if everyone is masked, social distanced, and the facility is disinfected between classes/shows. Nonetheless, a useful chart.

Interesting scale . Reading it reminds me why i am so doubtful professional sports will make it through their seasons. What is disturbing is where "swimming in a public pool" ranks. Not that i am doing it, but playing tennis is one of the safest things on the grid while swimming in public pools ranks much further down the line. Sadly, i suspect we are all doomed for awhile as we muddle along with virtually no national leadership or strategy.

Yeah, the no coordination of strategies stinks and will prolong this.
Something like a public pool seems tough to judge and rank since there are far more variables as to layout, size, number of participants, etc., so who knows what the chart-maker factored in? I won't go to indoor Sundial pool because I'd think aerosolized breath could easily hang around in that moist atmosphere, and the walking lanes in the outdoor pools require masks, so I've been hitting Marinette where you just have to mask up to walk through the lobby and scan the card, and all the doors are automatic openers or can be tapped with an elbow, and so far there has been plenty of room to social distance--same for Oakmont, although there some folks started grouping together to chat and the monitor came out to remind them, so I was glad to see that kind of enforcement for everyone's safety.

We have demonstrations for opening schools without masks at the AZ Capital. We have a President and his son tweeting videos of a physician in Texas supporting hydroxychloroquine, debunking masks, etc. This same doctor has previously claimed (on YouTube and in articles on her website) that gynecological problems are caused by individuals having sex with demons and witches in their dreams, that alien DNA is used in medical treatments, that researchers are currently working on a vaccine to prevent individuals from being religious, and that there is DNA evidence the government is run by “reptilians,” not humans. So much for Trump passing that cognitive test -- apparently being able to identify an elephant and draw the hands on a clock weren't enough.

Meanwhile, in the world of truths and facts, unless things change one of my schoolteacher friends has to report to school next week along with all the staff. Arizona is currently ranked number 2 in the nation in per capita infections of COVID-19. She's terrified, but says she needs the money to pay her bills. I can't express how worried I am for her and her fellow teachers, especially those over 60.

So sad that in less than a month we have now almost doubled the Sun City cases. Death figures for Arizona are so manipulated so as to make it not look as bad as it is. Monday showed -1 !! A day later is was 140 and today 172. The hospitalization figures are also a mystery as you have to read the disclaimer on the bottom of the report to see that " 60 % of hospital status unknown for COVID 19 cases".

Bottom line is you can just guard your own health and those close to you. Personal responsibility and compassion for others is so lacking amongst our leaders. It is a struggle to maintain the discipline of safety but it's the only way to get to the other side of this horrific pandemic. Here in Sun City we have to get a handle on this before flu & snowbird season hits this fall.

Spot on gang. It just keeps getting worse. And just when you think we have seen it all..trump showcases a pathetic witch doctor/preacher who talks about aliens and sex dreams with devils or some such nonsense. Crazy town at its finest.

And if that's not enough for you there's bat shit crazy Louie Gohmert who says he probably got COVID from his mask that he seldom wore. And, thank goodness trump had Herman Cain sign a release before he went to Tulsa, who knows how much that lawsuit would have been worth. Sorry, little or no sympathy for the brain dead who ignore what the experts are telling them and listen to the orange guy who is clueless.

Think positive. You have a lot to smile and to be thankful for.
A loving wife (I presume), a nice home (I know), and plenty of food (I guess)
BTW, have you had covid? If not, be thankful!!!

    Now off my soap box.

I agree with Peg that most of us have a lot to be smiling about
    but
think that a picture of Bill smiling might change all of that.

Sun City, as we know it, at the very least is on hold. The country is in a state of absolute and utter decimation. The death count this morning across the country is rapidly approaching 500 already. Schools are being told to reopen because in the sheer brilliance of Betsy DeVos and the president; young children can't become infected or they don't transmit it or whatever their latest pile of crap is. The economy is collapsing, the riots are worsening and the death toll is soaring. And as the country burns, trump turns to an idiot fake witch doctor from Texas for advice. And that's simply the tip of the iceberg.

The real tragedy is it didn't have to come to this. "The greatest country on earth" has handled this as poorly as any third world country could have. Everyone else got their head around it, we pretended it was all just going to "magically disappear." It's what we get for electing a carnival barker for president. Ratings are all that matter, and his are on full display, every day. Hell, yesterday he went to Florida and told the world what a great job they were doing as the death toll climbed to its highest level. Can anyone of sound body and mind explain that to me?

With respect to me, i'm grateful everyday for the gifts i have been given. Sobriety 44 years ago returned me to sanity.
I can't control anything that goes on outside my life; that said, it doesn't mean i have to like watching our society and our way of life collapse due to willful neglect by a man that should never have been elected as dog-catcher let alone president.
