The site is mired in nothingness again; happens every year about this time. We still get readers, but the posting drops off to next to zero.

Just for shirts and giggles, i think i will use this post to vent my frustration. I've made no bones about it, i'm not a Trump fan. Never was, never will be. His Svengali like affect on people is fascinating to watch though. Seemingly smart people embracing a persona who has to keep telling us what a "stable genius" he is, pretty much says it all.

I've learned to ignore his nonsense. Hell, if the media did the same, he'd have a melt down on 5th Ave. Isn't that the location he said he could shoot someone and his lovers of all things orange would still swoon? He craves attention and needs to be the center of it. Take the camera's off him on all except on Fox and he'd implode.

The other day though, he went beyond his unique norms. He stepped in it so deep, one could image old Mitch McConnell getting his backside up. I haven't read anything yet, so maybe Mitch is in hiding with the right wing legislators from Oregon so they don't have to vote on that climate change bill (can you freaking believe that?).

Sitting on the stage with his good buddy Putin, he had the audacity to joke about Russia interfering with our elections. Smirking as if it's their own private joke (which after the Mueller report, it appears as if it is). Yes, Russia did interfere with the intent to get him elected. No i am not saying Trump colluded.

If our election process is a running joke to the president, there is something terribly wrong. I don't care if you are right, left, center or none of the above; election interference by a foreign government is wrong on any and every level.

It's well past time where supporters and non alike hold this president's stupid accountable. We've done so little to insure these coming elections are not impacted like they were last time. I get it, Trump would love Putin's help yet again. Makes you wonder if Jimmy Carter's remarks the other day weren't spot on.

If you can't say something nice, Don't say nothing at all!!!!!
Did Bambi or Thumper say that?

I am totally disgusted with all the bashing of our current president.
There are certain presidents I did not like but never ever talked against them.

    Really Peg??????????????????

Tell me how you can ignore Trump making a mockery of our election process. Help me understand how the president has the right to do that? Give some logical explanation of his actions on the stage with Putin.

All i ever get is nonsense like the crap you posted above. I know, throw in how i'm just a sore loser. Nope, this isn't about winning and losing, this is about the very essence, the backbone of our democratic process.

You're no dummy Peg, so give me anything that defends his actions that actually makes sense.

If you only want to hear good things about someone said don’t read novels, don’t watch movies, certainly don’t watch news programs. Who wants to read only good things about someone? Maybe Pollyanna or Bambi but that gives zero insight into the real world.

The person we should be most critical of is the president. He has the power to influence and take actions that change our lives. Or did you vote in a dictator to do what he wants while you sit back and say “oh well, he’s the president.”

This president bashes anyone and everyone...even a dead war hero. Almost daily. Almost every time he opens his mouth he’s bashing someone. If anyone ever deserved bashing it’s him.

The DNC is mad at Russia because they 'think' they are trying to manipulate our election by exposing that the DNC is manipulating our election.

How did the Russians get Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the DNC to steal the Primary from Bernie Sanders? How did Russia get Donna Brazile to leak debate questions to Hillary Clinton in advance of the debates ;)

Nobody said the Russian's did any of those things 3gaz. And of course those weren't the questions were they? Deflection much?

It wasn't the DNC by that way, it was the Mueller report, and every other agency in the US, telling us Russia interfered and was trying to help Trump. That's not fake news, just reality.

What really pissed me off though and what you totally ignored was Trump sitting on the stage making a joke of it with his buddy Putin. Even you must agree our elections aren't something elected officials should be laughing about with the guy from Russia who helped elect him eh?

And when trump met with putin in private, he wouldn’t allow US reporters in but allowed Russians reporters.

People talk about what they want to at the moment. Look away if you’re not interested in a particular thread. Plenty of other threads to discuss anything and everything SC.

I get it BP, kinda like Obama & Putin on the Hot mike ;)

And as far as Muller goes, He quit digging when all of the tunnels lead to Hilly Rodman ( hy-Fan) Clinton
and Barack Hussein Obama. The FISA trail is evidence of this.

    Oh, BTW It's 3rdGen not 3gaz...Thank You.

Not even close to the truth 3. The Mueller report is an in-depth study of the Russian interference. You've really got to get beyond Alex Jones infowars if you have any hope of understanding reality. Just to be helpful, here's the link to the first half of the Mueller Report, it's entire focus is Russia's interference and efforts to help Trump during the 2016 elections. As i read it, i missed that part about the tunnels to Clinton and Obama. Maybe you can pin-point the page(s) it's on so i can read it for myself.

And because i am so darned helpful peg, consider this a PSA (Public Service Announcement): Under the header "Sun City General Discussions" is where topics Sun City AZ related topics go. The "Non Sun City Related Discussions," is a catch-all for other topics of interest. Hope that helps.

    bP,

I'll just agree to disagree, as the truth always comes out in the end ;)

It may come out but as we’ve already witnessed, few of his supporters care when it does.

Muller inditements: six former Trump advisers, 26 Russian nationals, three Russian companies. Seven of these people (including five of the six former Trump advisers) plead guilty.

There is no such thing as truth anymore, there's simply winning. Democracy as we know it, as the founders of this country constructed it is gone. When states can gerrymander elections where the minority elects the majority of the seats in their congress, elections become meaningless. Where big money donors from either party are allowed to buy elections, nothing is sacred anymore. When foreign countries are allowed and encouraged to interfere in our electoral process we have sold our soul to the devil for the sake of winning. When one lie after another becomes the mantra that pushes/pulls voters along, we are simply lost in a sea of utter shamelessness.

Civility is dead. Statesmanship is gone. Democracy is lost. And there are those who think this has somehow made America great again.

    Go figure.

Hey fix, hope all is well. I was so inclined to climb on the soapbox, but what's the point? We live in a society where reality television is real life. Think not? That's what our current president was and for all practical purposes, still is.

We grew up in an era where protesting was both accepted and in some cases, expected. Peter, Paul and Mary wrote and sang anthems to our causes. Saw them any number of times and always loved how i felt after seeing them perform. We walk Sybil every night and listen to music as we walk. Between the I-phone and the small JBL speaker clipped to my belt, we have an endless supply of music. No surprise, PPM provides us hours of listening pleasure.

Imagine my surprise the other night while listening to the album Flowers and Stone. Lots of great songs, but this one got me. Who would have ever thought this remarkable trio, would have been so insightful with this song written in 1989? Warning: If you are a lover of all things trump, do not click on this link.

Flowers and Stone is one of the best from PP&M.
It was a late release if I recall.
Not sure where my sanity would be without music.

Couldn't agree more fix, music has become one of my favorite diversions from the craziness of the day. The other is reading. I've been doing both way more of late. Funny thing is the authors of several of the book series i have been reading often inject music into their characters daily travails. I have several echo dots scattered about the house and outdoors so i can simply call up songs or artists and the wireless options are an awesome add-on.

Flowers and Stones was a later release. They began their careers in 1962 and their music has inspired people for nearly 60 years. Peter and Paul are still touring, but let's face it, without Mary, it's just not the same. She was the flower amidst the thorns. One of my favorites off that album is "No Man's Land." Mary's voice is haunting in it. Oddly, Flowers and Stones, released in 1990, was right in the middle of albums produced. Whenever i need a pickup from the latest nonsense enveloping us, PPM never fail to take me to a better place in time.

Looks like this thread morphed into a music theme. My go-to artists to relax are Simon & Garfunkle and the Mammas & Pappas. Willie Nelson and Ann Murray also are frequent listens. Music is such good therapy for the angst caused by the current political stink.
