The best place to get recommendations on businesses that are reputable and have done business in Sun City is through SCHOA. They maintain a list of vendors of all kinds that they have vetted. It is worth the $20 a year fee to join SCHOA have online access.

Thank you. Yes we are SCHOA members. We were just on a time crunch and personal experience recommendations are hard to beat.

I'm hard pressed to pass on referrals for AC guys. We've used several and often been disappointed. Some are more salesmen than true professionals.

The price you paid seems a little high unless it was a 4.5 ton, 16 seer. And i do know you will pay more for the name on the unit.

The good news is COSTCO stands behind their vendors better than most.

I would encourage folks to get multiple bids. In Sun City, it's not unusual for seniors to be taken from time to time.

You can do an online access to the SCHOA business directory. We've used it and been quite happy with every vendor. While we did replace our A/C Heat Pump during a major
remodel, I'm not sure who the general contractor used. BTW, we found our general contractor on the SCHOA website and were extremely happy: Mel Strahl construction

I'd also be interested in what size A/C you purchased that cost $10,000. Was it a heat pump that had to be placed on the roof? We wouldn't need anything larger than a 2.5-3 ton A/C unit and not a heat pump. We've been very happy with Sun City Mechanical over the past 20 years for A/C, heat & plumbing needs.
