    God i hate garage sales.

So to get around posting this as a garage sale; we posted on Nextdoor a massive stuff sale. Anyone who followed Selling the Compound knows we sold virtually all of the contents with the house. Too bad, because there were some awesome pieces.

The good news, or the bad news (depends on your perspective) is we had a second house we had rented out for three years we moved to. A lot of the stuff in it was replaced and some of our personal stuff resulted in having a garage filled with way more stuff than we needed.

We finally are at a point of getting rid of it. Sorted through the piles and have volumes to sell. That will happen this week; June 20, 21 and 22 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday). We will start at 7 am to get folks out and done before it gets crazy hot and they'll want to jump in the pool. We'll finish at noon on Thursday and Friday and Sat no later than 11am (if there's any stuff left).

We have indoor furniture, outdoor furniture, wall hangings, kitchen items and a mess of other odds and ends. Like many sales, there's lots of clothing. Please note, there's a nice assortment of size 2XL men's clothing at some really good prices. Getting rid of lots of books too.

I occasionally stop at garage sales and all too often it's stuff i wouldn't take if they gave it to me. As we were going through the stuff, i was eye-balling what i might buy (said with a smile). If nothing else, stop by and say hello. No idea if anyone will show up, it isn't the best time of year for a sale but we have to get rid of some of this stuff so we can get the cabinets put in the garage so we hide the crap we don't sell.

PS: If you are a Christmas freak, we have some awesome Xmas stuff including older Hallmark ornaments. Probably won't put it out but ask if you are interested.

Duh...corner of Hutton and Glen Oaks Circle. The address for those of you with GPS is 9637 West Glen Oaks Circle No. Brown house (what other color would it be?). Got a sign hanging; Bill and Lori's. Love to have you stop by and say hello.

Think i will go through a bunch of the music CD's i have. Not sure if anyone still uses them but for 50 cents each, maybe they'll become collectors items. Now that's funny.

One day to go and my hatred for all things garage sale-ish grows. Pricing the stuff today and starting off bright and early tomorrow morning.

Really, really looking forward to Saturday at 11 am.

I would have thought there would be an update posted as to how the first day went. How was your first day? Did you sell out everything? Wanted to stop by today, but prior commitments prevented an early arrival. Maybe tomorrow we can stop by and "hi" just to see your smiling, happy, "sales" face. Enjoy!!

Did i tell you? I hate garage sales. Opened at 7 and the early birds started coming at 6:30. Hate being an ass, but trying to set up is really hard when people are milling about. Did a little over a thousand dollars. Sold most of the good stuff and folks kept telling me how reasonable prices were and how good the stuff was. Funny, they won't be saying that tomorrow. The prices will be better, but the quality of the stuff will be questionable.

Looks like we'll pack in the Saturday sale and just donate the stuff left to a thrift store. We'll see.

    Damn, it's hard ass work.

Yay. Sold enough to cancel the sale for tomorrow and donate the rest to a thrift store.

Damn, am i tired. Too old for this manual labor stuff.

Congratulations on overcoming the "garage sale" beast. Now you won't have to do that again, hopefully, ever. Glad you made a decent profit, and this is behind you. Get some rest, and think of a new topic to write about. We all await a new thread to share our thoughts on.
