Visiting Sun City For The First Time

Not only has the Chicago area been unseasonably cold the past 5 weeks, but Illinois supposedly has the 2nd highest property taxes in the U.S. and the state is just about broke. Although the new incoming governor wants to legalize recreational marijuana, so I'm sure the property taxes will be slashed dramatically within the next 2 years once the marijuana sales tax takes effect. Oh wait I must be dreaming...

 

My primary residence is in the Seattle area. Property tax is by far my biggest annual expense and we have legal weed.
Legalizing will not solve Illinois financial problems. But it might help some Illinois residents cope with the taxes.
