I guess in this paradigm shift to a world where one can say anything they want; it should come as no surprise. If we have learned nothing else since Trump took office, nothing is ever out of bounds, or crosses the lines...there are none. That is freaking tragic. We've owned our house in Sun City since July of 1999. We've been proud of that ownership virtually every day...it was the single best decision we ever made. And then tonight happened. The candidate forum was well attended, the questions good, the answers better. Those in attendance were delighted as they got an up close and personal look at each person running...all 8 of them. Here's the rest of the story: I stayed around to linger and chat. A couple of candidates who had walked out returned, clearly agitated and offended. When i saw what they were holding, i understood why. Someone had plastered their smutty personal attack pieces on the cars in the parking lot. Seriously, is this the best Sun City has to offer? Are there cretin's actually living here who think it's okay to do this kind of crap? To the moron who did this, did you ever stop to consider the RCSC just might have parking lot video? Shameful is being kind...better yet, a place in hell is no doubt waiting for them when their miserable existence finally comes to a halt. It can't be too soon in my book. God help us all if this is the new normal.
I wasn't able to attend last night's Candidate Forum. I don't know what was passed out in the flyers but hope to find out today. If the person(s) responsible are known to be RCSC Cardholders I hope they are brought up for discipline if found to be in conflict with conduct standards. If there is no video I hope someone steps forward to claim responsibility.
Geez. I have my personal idea what the slurs might have been, though I won’t say without knowing. And I wonder if the other incident about the board member concerns the same bigoted idea.
I am not going to give this sick freak the satisfaction of acknowledging his/her crap flyer. If you have watched the video from the candidate forum, the three targeted have made no effort to hide the clubs they belong to; nor should they have to. This community is way better, way bigger than the small minded bigot that put this together. In that this was a RCSC event, i am hopeful they will release a full out condemnation of the what took place and then take the appropriate measures to insure it never happen again.
This news is shocking and more than disappointing. We left the forum at 7:30 and found no flyer on our vehicle, so I’m assuming they were distributed after this time. I wish I could have caught the ignoramus in the act.
Wow. Sun City IS better than that. Don't know who was targeted or why, but it doesn't matter. I missed the forum but watched the first one on You Tube and plan to do the same for this one. I am so pleased that RCSC meetings and forums are online - even when I'm back in Minnesota I watch to stay up-to-date.
At this point I hope there is no response until AFTER the election. All candidates need to be evaluated based on their ability and desire to represent Sun City and NOTHING else. Having said that, I wonder if any reaction will be the same had the "attack" been motivated by race or religion.
