    Hello everyone,
Thank you for allowing me to join.
My husband and I are peeking into the future and really like the looks of Sun City.
We found a house that looks nice and are attempting this long distance from Washington State.

Hey Julianna, welcome to TOSC and more importantly, to SuN City. There’s probably not much more excitement than when you decide to move to that next phase of your life. While it can be daunting, the thrill of moving to a community as unique as Sun City still gives me goosebumps today when i think back.

Tell us a little about how you found Sun City and why you chose us? Just so you know you aren’t alone, 6 plus homes all here, 365 days a year. Hard to belivieve, but when you sell more than 2000 homes a year, that’s what it works out to.

Again, welcome, you will never regret the decision.

Welcome Julianna. I live in Washington state too. We bought our condo 6 years ago and plan on spending winters in Sun City when I retire in 3 years and possibly live there full time in the future. We love Sun City. We looked in Sun City and Sun City West and felt our money went farther in Sun City. Everyone is so nice and friendly and there is a lot of things to do.

My husband and I are the same age so we couldn't live there. We went there a few times a year to work on our condo.

We bought when we were 51 and rented it out for four years during the peak winter months. Best move we ever made with a dollar. And let me just say, the rental market in Sun City for short term is outrageous. $2500 a month is considered a steal these days.

We would visit our home before and after the rental season, usually to get some improvements done. Here’s the crazy thing, we loved every minute we could spend here. Even though we ran ourselves ragged, we knew someday this would be our home and we lived for those “vacations” working our butts off.

It literally changed our lives. Vacations were either cruises or trips to Vegas. Once we bought in Sun City, it became our focus. I was a freaking workoholic and when we knew where and what the next chapter of our life would be, it helped me understand, work was way overrated.

To help you understand, there are roughly 27,000 rooftops in Sun City. 18,000 are single family, 9000 some kind of attached dwellings. All single family are rent-able, about 25% (wild ass guess) are able to be rented. Each condo association have their own CC&R’s and most are reluctant to allow rentals. I only say that because i’ve heard stories of folks under 55 buying here planning to rent them out till they turn 55, only to be told they can’t.

In any event, i think you will find most of us living in Sun City feel it just doesn’t;t get any better.
