I will be voting for Debbie Lesko for U.S. Congress, Arizona Congressional District 8. She has been a proactive friend of Sun City as Arizona's LD21 Senator and Representative. Over the years she has always supported Sun City. Now it is our turn to SUPPORT her. Early voting begins March 28th and General Election April 24th.

I have always approved of and liked Debbi Lesko.
However, recent news reports have me concerned.
    Comments, please.

However, the problems we face are critical and farther reaching than Sun City."

I totally agree and have serious concerns about her positions to keep in marching step with the Republican Party.

In case you missed it, here's the link to the Sunday 3/25 debate between Lesko/Tipirneni.

Vote Smart does not list campaign contributions that I could find. In order to make an informed decision, this now needs to be known before voting for anyone. Not to say they can't take money, but contributions influence a candidate. Dark money, as Emily said.

FYI, you need to scroll down the page to see all the videos on the link aggie posted. Especially the one on campaign contributions.

I know and like Debbie, but i have to say, the State of AZ and the state of the school system here is an abomination. Debbie has steadfastly defended the outcomes which are horrible and the ads running now are ridiculous on their face. Throw in this push to support charter schools and detract from the broken public school system and it is a ticking time bomb. The upside of this race is perhaps with two women running we can keep the testosterone driven nasty from making it the travesty we have seen around the country and we can focus on issues.

Yes, that was certainly informative. Glad I read it. Lasko....Making America Grate Again

-Government should stay out of people's guns but get into a woman's uterus? "I believe in less government interference and regulation in the private sector." I guess a woman's uterus is not in the private sector.
-Correction Ms Lasko: The government has not paid for abortion since the Hyde Amendment was passed on September 30, 1976. Stop continuing to spread lies. You want to prevent abortion by defunding Planned Parenthood? The number 1 provider of birth control is Planned Parenthood. So you really don't want to prevent abortion, you just want women to go back to the days of illegal abortions so they die. Abortion will never stop. You can only vote to make it unsafe.
-Opposed to Net Neutrality? Get ready for your cable bills to go even higher. Let your internet provider decide what you will see based on who pays them more.
-How cute...you support using the "original text of the Constitution." Yeah, we're still living in 1789. So let's throw out all the amendments including those that abolished slavery, a women's right to vote, and FYI the freedom of religion was an amendment too. Oops, there goes that gun amendment you love to love so much. So let's don those floor length dresses, start chopping wood, and get back to the original text.

She complains that Planned Parenthood came to her house to protest. Now perhaps she knows what it feels like when anti-abortion protesters haunt the clinics, terrorize the women, and blow up the place. She has to start everything with wa wa wa "a Democrat did this..."

And, as if, Hiral Tipierneni would refuse to respond to legitimate questions. If that doesn't make you smell a rat, I don't know what would.

Great! Happy to hear she’s trying to dismantle Citizens United, one of the most damaging initiatives to happen to our democracy in a long time. Corporations are individuals? Biggest bunch of hooey. Citizens united=corporations united. Corporations are not citizens. Citizens United (joke of a name) is the biggest source of dark money. One corporation can fund a candidate, run misleading ads for their own interest and can do it all anonymously.

I’m glad someone worthwhile stepped up to help her, if this is true, and she decided to accept the support. I’m not against contributions, like I said before. I want to evaluate each one and this gets a thumbs up.

And she got money AFTER they heard her positions. They are supporting her positions by contributing, she is not taking their position because they supported her. The way it should be.

And speaking of Citizens United, Lesko said " I support using the original text and intent of the Constitution and I oppose judges who bend the Constitution to fit their biased opinions." But that's what exactly what happened in the citizens united case...judges who interpreted the Constitution based on their opinions. Sure wasn't in the original Constitutional language. Yet she so pro citizens united (Koch brothers financed). How does that work, Debbie? Well, I guess it does make sense though since she is also Koch brothers financed.

Sorry can't vote for someone who states Koch Brothers values align with her values.

One more example of a “Public Servant” acting in their own self interests vs serving the voters.

Lesko had announced some time ago she was going to run for the Franks vacancy but delayed the resignation until opening day so she would RECEIVE ANOTHER YEAR OF STATE RETIREMENT CREDIT.

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO SERVICE ABOVE SELF !!!!!!!!!!!
