Get back on that box. At least until the election is over. She sounded thoughtful, obviously intelligent, and she represents at least 46% of Maricopa (based on the % that voted D in 2016). 49% might be the majority but it’s not by much. And despite Lesko telling her she belongs somewhere else (how typically politician-rude) some others might also agree with her perspective.

Should taxpayers fund religious education at the expense of public schools? That’s the voucher system. 75% of vouchers would go to religious schools/education because that’s the majority of private education. Not just your religion...all religions.

 

I would too if I were there. Hopefully you are correct.

 

In Sun City West, and I have her sign up. Loaded with them here on lawns. Met Hiral and she is the real deal. Haven't had a politician of this caliber in a long time. Contrary to Lesko's false mailings, she is a moderate. See her on Wednesday at Dial Rec Ctr. Bring your signs

 

Is there a link with info about her? I have seen her signs (one on Del Webb) and thought she was a guy.

I was talking to a friend yesterday and he told me a few things about Hiral that did not sound good.
One was that she is a democrat. Neither good nor bad but them guys/gals stick together and bash Trump
which I think is not only unprofessional but also unpatriotic.
I think I will stick with Debbie.

Speaking of unprofessional, the teachers are certainly acting that way what with their marches, etc.
Bet I hear back on that comment.

I'll be at Sun Dial and hope this event is publicized better. It would be great to see a good turn out and hear Dr. Hiral in person. We don't have to stick together but listen and make an informed choice on the 24th.

 

GOP "school choice" means diverting public funds to charter schools who employ non-certified teachers. Gov. Ducey and the AZ GOP legislature are decimating the state public education. Lesko is one of the people who ruined education in Arizona. Her voting record (online) mirrors that claim. Also, anyone who publically states that the Koch brothers values align with her values is not someone I want in any government position.
Vote @hiral4congress Regarding Trump... Vote people before party.

Better yet, this might just be the post with the most irony ever: Teachers fighting for a living wage are unprofessional, but an unhinged president tweeting stuff out his ass daily is perfectly normal. Go figure.

 

Yes, being Easter & all I really used constraint in my post. There is a correction I have to make as the date to vote is April 24th.

I agree with 5thd that you should vote people and positions - not party.

Voting strictly party line leads to the status quo we have today. Nothing changes. Nothing gets done.

Question – what has Debbie Lesko done for Sun City that has made a huge impact on quality of life here?



Border wall – The Berlin wall came down starting on November 9, 1989. As this occurred, cheers were heard around the world and especially in America. Now America wants to erect its own wall to separate nations in an effort to deter illegal immigrants. A wall will not stop those determined to enter the US illegally.



Congress needs a drastic change – voting the same career politicians in over and over has led to the “Do nothing Congress” of the past 12 years. Congress is noted for creating commissions to investigate issues like the Facebook controversy that result in absolutely no new legislation. Even Trump faulted congress for their ability to create useless congressional commissions. We need congress to work as individuals (not a party) to solve the most pressing issues of the day.

 

I was a Library Media Technician in an elementary school for 25 years.
Waaaay before computers. Eventually I was in charge of 30 computers.
Setting up in September. Shutting down in June.
At first, teachers were not interested in using computer. Kids loved them!

 

Two things come to mind....

She tried hard to get the ACC not to have EPCOR consolidate our Waste Water Rates. She wrote letters and was down at the commission when they were discussing. Remember she is only one person but she has been a proactive friend of Sun City and fought for this not to happen and voicing it. NOTE: currently this Waste Water case is on Appeal at AZ Appeals Court.

 

More importantly what will LESKO do in Congress? Her position on Education is against Public, Pro-Voucher. Does not benefit children. It is about money. She stands with Paul Ryan on dismantling Social Security and Medicare. No real plan for Health Care. Her alliances with KOCH/ALEC/Devos drives her vote. One thing that stood out on her voting record is she was the only NAY vote to amend animal cruelty. OMG. Did a lobbyist get to her?

 

That doesn't mean Tipirneni would not do the same good for SC and SCW--she has not yet had the opportunity to prove herself in this area. I expect she would, based on the fact that she has championed other worthwhile causes.
