CM answered most of your question aggie, but a couple of additions: I voted to eliminate one of the member exchange meetings but with an understanding we would replace it with regular board visits to clubs on an ongoing basis. My theory was rather than have card holders come to us, we'd go to them. Sadly there was little or no interest in board members doing that.

The other part of the question regarding why there is no two-way communication during board meetings is more interesting. While serving, i often responded to questions or comments from the floor at monthly board meetings. There was no policy or prohibition preventing it. The statement now being read by the president came after both Carole and I had left the board. Personally i think it sucks to even suggest it isn't the venue for two-way dialogue, and C is right, the less they open their mouth, the easier it is to stay on point.

Think of it this way; two-way communication is critical to understanding why people are thinking/feeling and only when that free-flow exists are we able to comprehend how we get to where we are going. Kind of like having a two-way open message board or forum, where people can freely exchange issues, discuss problems and find solutions. Wouldn't that be a novel approach for the board to embrace?

I was at an exchange where they did stop a privilege card holder from speaking again at the same exchange when they learned she wasn't a RCSC cardholder.

I voted for the first time. :victorious: RCSC and SCHOA (but that was odd since the openings were equal to the number of candidates)
