RCSC Board of Director Appointment

I would have thought there'd be a motion in this month's proceedings to replace Gary Cotten. Why bother replacing a Board member if they wait until next month and he(she) sits on the Board for only the 2 months left in the year? There will be a new Board member elected in November but maybe they will appoint someone to fill the spot that will vote with the majority on the traditional flood of motions before the end of the year. :concern:

Aggie, the replacement was voted on in Executive Session toward the middle of August. We have to approve an appointment relatively quickly according to our corporate documents, so it was done at a special session meeting. The new member will be sworn in at the September Board Meeting, and will be seated immediately thereafter.

The installation is an item on the September BOD agenda. Is the name of the replacement confidential information? If the appointment was approved and the appointee accepted....can you reveal the name?

Actually Aggie, I'm not sure if that information has been released yet or not. I can tell you the person will be sworn in next Thursday at the Board Meeting.

Rich...........You have not answered Aggie's question regarding the confidentiality of releasing the replacement directors name. You being not sure if the information has been released yet or not is lame. You are the #2 person in charge as the Vice President of the RCSC Board of Directors with you being groomed to be the President next year........if you don't know the answer who does???????????? Not knowing or choosing not to say is another example of the boards failure to communicate with it's members. Your willingness to make a showing on this site is a positive thing but in so doing it would be helpful if your information wasn't just another unanswered question.

Gary, I haven't answered Aggie's question for a simple reason that you should be all too familiar with. That vote took place in Executive Session, or don't you remember railing ad nauseum about people leaking things that happened in Executive Session? I won't divulge that information, as you always harped that YOU wouldn't divulge that information.

Be nice Rich...don't get your dander up. It's a simple question to answer. Your letting your protective instincts get the better of you. Open up and see the light, it's wonderful out here with the regular people.

I may have my prediction all wrong. Thursday's Installation may be as exciting as watching who gets the "final rose" on the "Bachelor"!:indecisiveness:

About 19 members showed up of which several were future board candidates and several were new members of the Ad Hoc committee.
Ron J. was sworn in to replace the other director that resigned.

Steve Collins spoke in "member comments" and resigned from the COC due to health reasons which may narrow the field of board candidates. Not much other exciting things occurred.

Yes, the final rose went to Ron Jesse. It will be interesting to see what motions will be coming up for a vote before the end of the year.

Congrats to those in the audience at the Board meeting today for taking on the Ad Hoc committee positions and the SCHOA position. Always good to see seasoned volunteers. I think a new thread will start soon regarding the Ad Hoc Committee with the recommendations
that will be made....it is obviously not going to be an easy task and will create good conversation. The nice thing is it will be "open meetings" at least on the Committee end of it.

For what it is worth I am looking at 5 candidates running for 4 RCSC board positions. If so who will get the short straw and then again maybe I'm all wet. I think there were 10 or 11 packets originally picked up but who knows for sure. Just something to ponder over the weekend when having a cool or warm beverage.
