In jest, I told some folks I knew all the songs from some of our Sun Bowl concerts because I heard them on "Happy Days".

That music is now 55 to 60 years old, it's classic, and some of it is very good. *It isn't "hear a different band do the same tunes each week" good, but it is good. *It's time we updated our Playlist. *

You can now begin the "Get off my lawn" comments. *

I am 55 and I agree. *We need more bands that play 70 s and 80s music.

Was there actually good music from the 70's and 80's? Oh yeah, Barry Manilo and the Village People.

BP, REALLY? *You know as well as anyone that there are thousands of great tunes not named "Ride Around Sally", *and there is a ton of 70's music that is not disco - the Bee Gees were a band way before "Saturday Night Live".

Now, does the Entertainment Committee have citizen members? *Does it take new members?

Finally a thread we can sink our teeth into. Is there a better song from the 70's than this one.

Eat your hearts out Elvis, the Stones and Frankie boy.

    J and V,*

Although Disco got more airtime than it deserved the 70s had great music.*
When we get over nostalgic about the 50s the fact is R&R didn't come along until '55. The first half of the 50s had nothing.*
Take a look at the top 100 Rock songs of the 70s. Great new talent and good stuff from artists that survived the 60s.
During the 70s *I listened to CKLW Detroit, and then WLS Chicago. Both legendary Rock stations.*

Actually, yes. Entertainment Committee DOES accept new members. Their next meeting is in September. Ida Eisert is the chairman. I'd suggest you attend a meeting, see if it's something you like, and if you do, let her know that you'd like to join her committee. She recommends it to the board, you're voted in at a board meeting, and that's it!

Thanks rhoffer, *I'll give it a go in September.

    fixj, *
Remember, I was only 9 in 1972....that was funny stuff to a bunch of 9 year olds in Kentucky. *Imagine the level of annoyance a patent reaches when you sing "Dead skunk in the middle of the road...", over and over. *We were sent outside repeatedly that summer.

Bet you remember Hit Parade on Saturday nights. They did the top 10 songs if the week. Your list had some great music.
My mother still has her collection of big band, jazz and pop music from the 40s on 78 RPM vinyl.*

Excussse me. But the mid 60s, 70s and the 80s produced the best music ever. New generations are still listening to it. I agree...Sun Bowl need more 70-80s music.*:bull_head::glee:

While a joke at the time compared to today's music it sounds pretty good now

C, you need help...the day Disco Duck is pretty good is the day California may drop off into the ocean. I know, rap is crap, but if it works for the younger generation, who are we to judge?
