A beautiful day in the neighborhood...

It's always amazing when we get through those really hot July and August days with temperatures in the 100's when you first wake. Seriously, it gets old for those of us staying in Sun City AZ year-round. With September half over, we are on the downside of summer and our incredible fall and winter seasons are right smack in front of us.

Over night temps are in the 70's and while our days peak out in the 90's (I know, sounds hot for some of you), it is absolutely beautiful this time of year. Got up this morning and after playing ball with Sybil, we jumped in the nixiemobile and toured the community. Stopped by Bell Rec Center and watched the lawn bowlers for a few minutes and took off on a cruise into phase 1 and then back up Del Webb Blvd home.

The girls love sticking their noses through the open front window of the golf car, their ears pinned back by the breeze. Grabbed a hot cup of coffee at AM/PM and was trying to figure out how life gets any better than this?

I know, world cruises and riches beyond compare, but really, keeping it simple and looking at it from my perspective, this morning could not get any better.

My favorite months in SC are October/November and March/April. Generally great weather.

BP we can hardly wait for our move the end of Oct,I think we are coming at the right time.I think it will be a lot better dealing with the hot summer months than the cold wet snowy winter months in the Seattle area.I like the Idea of keeping it simple and enjoying all sun city has to offer.

It's another one of those intangibles about Sun City waynes. It's why newer communities do so well...it's all about the big bang theory of wowing people into buying. Nothing wrong with that, it's just once reality sets in, aging is all about finding some kind of peace of mind and being comfortable in your surroundings.

Sun City is shorts and t-shirts and kicking back. Doing everything, doing nothing and anything in-between. And being able to do it without breaking the bank. It's about a slower pace of life and enjoying the small things happening around you. Of course the weather is a plus, of course the amenities are awesome and the choices abundant. But when you get right down to it, it's about having something different than where you came from...and then being able to get your arms around that being worth its weight in gold.

For those of you coming, you have an incredible opportunity for happiness in front of you. It's just a matter of slowing down and letting it happen.

How the hell does it get any better than that?
