    Happy 4th of July Weekend....

Confession time - I am looking forward to getting a golf car(t) (you pick, I'm not about to start a debate), for many reasons, but lets just say I think it will be cool. I know not everyone would like one/want one/ever have one, and I might fall into that category some day, but for now, I am looking forward to getting one.

We are currently looking at a corner lot home in phase 3 up near W Union Hills Dr (I know some would never buy up there).

Can anyone tell me what the speed limits are on streets like W Spanish Moss Ln, N 96th Ave, N Palmeras Ln, N Palo Verde Dr, etc?

If there is a website were I can find this information for myself?

    All info is appreciated

Most of the non-arterial street speeds are 25 miles per hour. A handful of streets are 30 miles an hour. Streets (Bell Rd, Grand Ave and 99th are 35 or more and you shouldn't be driving on thos anyway.

Thanks BP - There are parts of Bell, Grand and 99th that I didn't like driving in a regular car, even if it were allowed I wouldn't go near (except for crossing them) in a golf cart.

I'm with you J+V. I'm looking forward to having a golf cart too. That's one of the things that makes an impression when you first visit SC - all the carts on the streets. Of course that also means a garage to accommodate one. I recall seeing carts on 99th around the Bell center but not on Bell or Grand. I think I was told they're illegal on streets where the speed limit is over 35. Someone can correct this if I'm wrong.

Must be a midwest thing but some people have to change the batteries in their golf cart every 18 months but a pull cart requires no batteries. :smile-new:

Tomato/tomahto. I grew up in the Midwest and it is golf cart there. I promise to start calling them "cars" when I move to Sun City.

My battery died 2 years ago when I was leaving a meeting at Fairway.
One of the member went home and got his jumper cables and started my car.
I immediately drove to GM dealer for new battery.
I had forgotten that I had jumper cables in my car.

Now I am in the habit of having my battery tested every few month.
Big O said it was getting bad and I should buy a new one.
Fortunately, being the responsible person I am, I went to the
garage around the corner from me on Talisman & Del Web.
Battery was just fine. I just went there again last week & battery fine.
I would recommend that place as being very honest.

Next battery check will be at station on 99th & Greenway.

The GM dealer will check battery & tires for me - free.

BTW. My car is 8 years old - 2007 Pontiac G6.
It only has 12,000 miles on it. People want to buy it!
As I have said before, I rarely leave Sun City.
Everything I could possible need is here.

There are just a few restaurants on 83rd that I go to
and only because I have gift cards - Elephant Bar & Cheesecake Factory.
I would much prefer to have fast food gift cards and have
    mentioned it to the gifters.

We called them carts where I grew up also, I think it is related to calling those other little things "go carts".

Those non-motorized things we carried our golf clubs on, we call shoulders. As in, if you walk the course you carry your clubs.

Thanks Emily - our search continues. We couldn't come to an agreement on price with the seller, and we promised each other we wouldn't get emotionally attached to a property and pay over market value. We didn't get to this place by making those type of decisions, and we don't want to start now.
